Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Could I ask you all to say a Hail Mary requesting the prompt, safe arrival of our newest little one?

He/she was due Christmas day and has yet to make an appearance or give any indication that an appearance is likely to be made soon. Our older two were born a week and more than two weeks past their respective due dates, so apparently we just don't make 'em punctual, but momma's getting antsy!

I'm sure some of you have been in my (very tight fitting now that my feet are so swollen) shoes so I know you understand.

Thank you, thank you!

Sara,
I prayed for you. At least this way your baby's lungs will be well developed!

Yeah . . . I don't think we'll be getting our new tax deduction this year! Not a twinge and both my labors have been WELL over the 7 hours I have left before 2006.

But this little one really can't stay in there forever . . . right?

And thanks so much for the prayers, everyone!

don't be so sure...Nicholas was due on December 21st. My mom didn't want him born that day because it was her wedding anniversary and the marriage ended badly. So...at 8pm on the 21st, she called to "thank" me for hanging in there. We were both pretty sure he wouldn't share the date.

My water broke a little after 10 and he was born at 11:54PM on the 21st!

It's not to late for 2005!

Praying, Sara. All of mine ranged from very overdue to extremely overdue, so I know how you feel! We are looking forward to the birth announcement!

Oh yes! Our first was 9lbs and our second was 11lbs 11oz and looked like a 3 month old. I had a long labor with him (22 hours), but it wasn't particularly difficult and he arrived without any problems and without my needing any anesthesia so I really can't complain!

But here we are on Jan 1 and I'm still pregnant, so no tax deduction for 2005 . . . phooey!
