Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello all,

We just found out yesterday that my husband's company is relocating him to Minnesota. Although we're thankful he wasn't laid off, like much of his office, we're in shock! They want our final decision by May 6th.

We don't want to move. We love our house and where we live. My parents are less than a mile away, and my in-laws are not far either. But we have no choice. It's all very emotional. :(

My oldest was going to be starting high school next year at our site based charter's independent study high school. Now I need to figure out a new high school plan for her. My youngest son has developmental delays and has an IEP, so I need to figure out how to navigate that as well! And there's a whole new set of homeschool laws to learn for the middlers!

We'll probably be moving in June or July.

I've found that there's a Catholic homeschool conference in St. Paul at the end of May, which is encouraging! Does anyone happen to know of any Catholic homeschool support groups in MN? We'll probably end up in Minnetonka / Eden Prairie because my husband's company is based in Minnetonka. I'd really like to get plugged in before we move to make this easier on my kids... especially my oldest who is incredibly sad to be leaving her friends and her plans for next year.

Welcome to our great state! We live near the SD border, so I'm of no help with support groups in the cities. If you join MACHE, they will send you a list of homeschooling groups in the state.

I'm in St. Paul though we're moving in July--for a job in NJ. We're the only people we know who don't LOVE living here. And we don't dislike it, we'd just rather be on the East Coast closer to family. I do know of a St. Paul-based group but you might want one based in Minneapolis or the western suburbs. PM me if you want contact information for the group here.

And, uh, hit up those post-winter clearance sales on warm clothes ;)

I am so sad, Sharon, to hear you'll be moving - although we totally understand the circumstances.

You'll be missed here so much!

And for those in MN - Sharon is AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Our loss is definitely your gain!!!!

I'll try and call you later.

Just wanted to say that I can so relate to your sadness about moving. We're a military family and that has been the toughest part of all for us. We are moving this summer as well (dh is retiring) only this time it's closer to family. It's the firt time for us in 16 years.

I'll pray for you and your family. As much as you can, keep thinking of it as an adventure.
