Just wondering if any of you are still on Weight Watchers. I did it before I got pregnant with my 6 mo. old, 2 falls ago. As soon as I got down to a better size for me (not goal, though) I got pregnant! Back then I did meetings because I was just learning and I'd had several friends from church who'd been successful there. Anyway, I've been needing to get my eating under control, and restore healthy family habits. However, there are no close meetings and I now that I'm hs-ing I'd be bringing all 5 with me!
So, I signed up online and it's great! They've just re-designed the program, tweaking the healthy guidelines a bit. There are still the checks, and I like the e-tools--so much easier to cook with the recipe builder!
There are message boards, one named Spiritual Space. There is a daily Catholic WW's thread for the rosary--it's such a blessing! I just wanted to let you all know about that thread in case you were not aware of it.
As a side note, WW's is the only diet my husband has sanctioned--mostly because it's a healthy lifestyle instead of just deprivation, and I can do it while nursing (which, if I'm not pregnant, I always am.) The daily healthy checks are there to be sure the points aren't abused.
Should have probably posted in the health forum...

So you don't have to "go" anywhere for it? Just online?
The last time I did it was way back in college and only really because my mother needed to and I went with her. I think the WW folks said I only needed to maybe lose 5 lbs, but I was her support. Unfortunately for my mom, she didn't lose and quit. And I moved on.
But now after babies, I could lose way more than 5lbs I'll have to check that out!

I am using Ww online and loving it. very easy to use, and like some of the 'communities' that they have.
I like not having to go to meetings etc...

Yep! I do WW. I have been there for almost 7 years. I do go to meetings because, well, I lead them.
I think the e-Tools is great and I enjoy tracking online.
Good for you Sarah! You can do it!
We've got something else in common--I've got 5 kids also. :)
Warmly,

I go on and off, Sarah. I can't get used to etools though. I still like my meetings in person so I'm considering taking the kids with me when next I go. It's not so bad depending on the meeting. Glad that etools is working for you!

I liked the meetings, too. I had a friend from MCCW (my Catholic Bible study--as Rachel knows) in Hawaii who signed up with me and went (we both quit around the same time--her baby was born a couple weeks after mine ) Our leaders were great, and the food suggestions people passed around were always helpful. At that time, my 1 yr old and not quite 3 yr old were the only tagalongs, and I could easily get there after running around in the morning.
The problem now is that we live a 30 min. drive in any direction from the nearest meeting. Since having enough time always seems to be a problem for me, I can't justify spending that much of it driving, not to mention the gas, and then dealing with the kids (who are not the most quiet bunch in the world.)
So, I feel blessed to have the online option. I save a lot of time with the recipe builder...when my computer doesn't freeze up on me, that is. This way, I don't have to cart my card thing that figures points with me everywhere, and no one really has to be aware that I'm watching what I eat (people tend to have all sorts of reactions to the idea of "diet" and like to opine--whether welcomed to or not!) I can plan meals ahead (we do it weekly for shopping, anyway), and then adjust according to my points. I'm also very happy with the Catholic Weight Watchers thread that does the rosary each day--such a blessing! We always have to have God at the center of any effort, as you know.
I don't have my weights posted by my name or anything, but it's inspiring to see others' progress.
