Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm at a loss here....my usual crafty adviser MaryM didn't have any info to give me on this subject, so I'm hoping I can gather more advice.

I learned some basic elements of framing, like cutting a mat and framing the "object" -- I didn't learn the basics of making the frame from scratch. I do some calligraphy pieces on the side and this saved me loads of money just purchasing a frame and doing the rest on my own.

My problem now is that the Logan Mat Cutter that I had free use of is no longer available. I was thinking of buying one, but the price is slightly prohibitive -- almost $200-300 for a good one. Plus I would also need a point driver, something else that would require cash outlay. Here is Dick Blick's list of framing supplies to give an idea of where I'm coming from.

I wondered does anyone do this at home, did you find good prices for materials, and/or any suggestions to do this inexpensively!

Sigh...I guess so. So let's change the question. How do you frame inexpensively?
