I started blogging again after a break over the summer and fall. I had used Typepad previously and then switched to blogger. When I started back up I came back to Typepad but I seem to be having some problems with it.

1. I used to get an e-mail with each comment that would allow me to personally e-mail a reply to that commenter. Now the e-mails come but the replies get sent to the comment section of my blog. Is there a place to change this so that I can reply to their e-mail?

2. The new picture loading process is taking me FOREVER and I am seriously thinking of leaving Typepad for this reason alone. Each picture takes anywhere from 1-2 minutes to load. I didn't have this problem before. In fact pictures used to load quite quickly with Typepad.

I hate to switch blogs (again) but in order to have time for blogging I need to have a hosting site that works best for me. I do know that blogger has a bulk loader and I can upload more than one picture at a time but I'm not sure of the time that takes.

Can anyone offer some help?

I was having an awful time getting pictures on to typead during the holidays, and finally, my husband (who is an IT guy) discovered that our computer had some kind of "protect mode" which was on . Changing that setting fixed my problem. One thing he did , which has helpful in figuring out the problem, was trying to upload pictures from his own laptop as opposed to my desktop which I normally used. This allowed us to isolate the problem to the machine, as opposed to typepad. If you have accesss to another computer, see if using a different computer makes a difference.
Hope this helps. By the way, I did have typepad working on it, too, although they didn't fix the problem they always got back to me the same day. If you submit a help request with them, give them all the detail you possibly can.. it will save time.

I was having problems uploading pictures this weekend. It took so long that I ended up with a late entry for a blog fair. Yesterday, however, everything uploaded immediately.

As for comments, there must be a way to change it because I respond to the comments in my email box. My reply goes directly to the commenter, not back to my blog. I tried to look at typepad how to change it, but I couldn't find anything.

I think it has something to do with when I signed back up. If you look at the comments in this entry you can see that my reply (reply #2) to Cindy is indented. When I received the notification that I had a comment and replied it went directly to my blog and not to their e-mail.

As for pictures, I haven't tried for a few days so maybe it is better.
