What do your kids do for exercise in the winter? I'm talking about days when there is no chance to get outside (i.e. dangerous wind-chills, miserable conditions, etc.).

You'll receive better advice from gals who actually live in these conditions (versus the sunny, 70 degrees day we're having), but if we can't get outside we DANCE to loud, fast Christian or upbeat classical stuff. The younger ones love to play "freeze dance" where they will dance around crazy until someone turns the music off and then they freeze in some wierd position. Other than jumping on the couch, that's all I've got!

We have been doing some kids yoga tapes on nasty days. However chasing your sisters around the house with a sword vowing to vanquish them is the main form of excercise.

We bought a small (5'5"x5'5"x5'5") bounce house with Christmas gift money on an after Christmas sale. It fit in our living room and doesn't make anymore noise than a vacuum (it came with the fan). 5 minutes to set up and inflate and 10 minutes to deflate and put away. It holds up to 200 lbs so I've jumped in it with the kids. I usually allow 2 or 3 little guys or 1 bigger kid in at a time.
It seemed crazy, but Hawaii winter was mud mud mud and I had morning sickness and DH had just left for a year. We've used it a lot! It's now in our basement permanently set up. Turn on the fan and jump in about 30 sec.

I have some weights - light ones for younger ones - and the kids use those. We do our own routines or use ideas from Fit Kids by Lisa Curry or Toning for Teens by Joyce Vedral.
I also downloaded some info about the Five Tibetans (yoga-ish)and the kids do those.
Two of my sons are working through the Canadian Air Force 5BX programme right now - the book is published by Penguin Books here and is very inexpensive.
We also like Taebo Junior (VHS) and Taebo Kicks (DVD).
And my 16 year old loves the routines in the workout book called Punk Rock Aerobics!

We get families from our homeschool group and go roller skating on mornings that there is an open skate. It works out great...not many people, and only our kids because the others are in school.

Erica's suggestion is cheaper but I'd still like to throw in a and a for the new Bella Dancerella. My little girl just got one for her b-day and it has entertained the girls everyday for HOURS at a time!

I took my kids ice skating today to celebrate Nicholas' fifth birthday. Both Nicholas (50 lbs) and Katie needed to be held up the entire time. I worked out and I will sleep tonight !

We jump on the beds!
Which works because my kids are little we don't actually have BEDS, just mattresses and boxsprings on the floor.
