Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm on the prowl for an archery set for my 5 year old. But nothing super authentic and sharp -- velcro or something?

Any ideas?

How about the suction cup type? I don't know of a brand though.

Jenn, I know you don't want "super authentic and sharp", but truthfully the toy sets made for kids are not worth any money spent on them. My dh has made me realize the error of my ways...

Following you around with my Christmas/Birthday list, Jenn. We're considering the one from Magic Cabin for our 4yo for his birthday (3 days after Christmas) so I'd really love to hear reviews or thoughts of it as well!

I just bought an archery set for my son for his birthday in November. The one I bought shoots soft rockets similar to the Nerf rockets. It looks like a bow, the "arrows" fit in like a real bow, and you pull back the string and release it to shoot the arrow. He loves it and it is very gentle. The name of the set is "Boss Bow." Perhaps you could find it online.

OK, so I should have researched before I posted but the bow we purchased can be seen in the following link (I hope):   Boss Bow

I looked at several bows similar to the Hearthsong and Magic Cabin bows in a local natural toys store before purchasing the bow for my son. My concern was that it takes quite a bit of dexterity to load the arrow onto the bow and release it. This may not be a problem for older children but I knew it would frustrate my 5 year old. The thing about the Boss Bow I purchased is that you put the hollow arrow on a piece of plastic and then you pull back another piece to launch the arrow. The arrow doesn't slip, fall off, or pinch little fingers.

Good luck

I just bought this one for one of my boys. I really like both of your choices, Jenn.
