Do you or don't you????
I usually don't, but this year I might venture to AC Moore in the early morn and treat myself.

depends on the sale
if something we want for the kids at a great price, then dh will go for that specific item
otherwise, no
but I hate shopping in general anytime
I do not hardly ever "shop" - i go with my list and buy what's on the list and get out asap
so far, I haven't seen anything in the BF ads worth the trouble

I don't if I can help it. Well, let me rephrase that. I would not if I was in a larger city. Though I've found at my inlaws as long as I wait until early afternoon that the craziness is down enough to go. Sometimes that's the only day I have available to hit stores when we're there (ones that I don't have at home)
Here.. in small town USA.. My sister and I are gonna be at the local variety store when it opens.. at 7am. To get a couple of things. There might even be a line and more than one or 2 checkers when we're ready to pay

Nope. I don't think I ever have. I'm so uncool. I despise Christmas shopping. I tend to go to small out of the way shops and to buy handmade online when I'm not at home making gifts for folks.
This year, I'll be doing more shopping out because I have less time to make - new house, new babe, lots of work. The kids are almost done with making their presents. I can't wait to see what they've done!
Brian goes out on Christmas eve (brave man!) to pick up stocking stuffers. It's his FAVOURITE part of Christmas.
Blessings,

I used to every year .... than I didn't for a while ... than the last time we were in SC, I went with my SIL and nieces ... it was fun but more just to say we were out there! I don't think the sales are worth the crowds anymore.
I still think it's easiest to order everything online ... and easier when das kindern still believe in St. Nick! !

DH has only been out ONCE, when we lived in a small town in Pennsylvania, where Wal*mart seemed to = NIGHTLIFE for some folks -- don't mean that to be a negative, but it *was* interesting to see some of the characters out at night if you happen to go shopping at midnight -- yikes!
Never again. He was at the store at 5 am and it was almost shoulder-to-shoulder. Totally freaked him out, he didn't even get to buy what he was planning to buy, and we have since taken Black Friday as sleep-in-day. Any shopping I want to do I do online -- there are Black Friday deals online too!

I don't usually venture out, unless it's a store or place that will not be too busy. Or if dh is with me. If I'm away at my MIL's I'll shop there, but I dislike shopping in Northern Virginia. I despise crowds.

I remember doing it just once....and I won't again! I know the sales are good, but it doesn't entice me at all. It's my personality, I guess, but I get flustered with so many people around and it doesn't help me shop any better.
Truth be told, I am never organized enough to go shopping on Black Friday either! I don't have my list ready or anything.

I usually go to the Michael's to get some craft supplies. I usually have a 10% off entire purchase coupon. This year I'm going to go to Joann's and do my craft shopping there. I still need a few things for the gifts I'm making. And, they have a 20% off entire purchase coupon.

I went once with my MIL - I couldn't get out of the car. I decided after seeing the crowd to drop her off and go find a spot to sit and knit. In peace. Not bad. I have gone later in the day to Joanns. O/w - I would rather spend the time with Dh who has the day off doing something as a family.

I went one time, about 6 or 7 years ago to a Walmart. Sale started at I think 6 or 6:30 am. I got there just 30 minutes after the doors opened. I was floored! Every register opened with lines the whole way back into the clothing department! I did one, frustrating loop around the store, then went right out the door. There was nothing I needed bad enough to justify waiting in those lines.
So now I try to make most of my gifts and shop online for the rest. But one thing I've noticed, though. They run out of items online, just like they do in the stores, so you have to buy early no matter which way you go. I try to do all my online shopping before BF, too, at least for anything considered a popular item.
If you are one who ventures out on this day, I give you lots of credit . Especially if you live in N. Va.

I hate shopping - but for years it has been a tradition for me to go out very early (before 7am) with my dd - we go to Starbucks (only time I ever go) and have one of the Christmas coffees - and then go to only two places - Michaels the craft store (we get any Advent craft essentials/last minute decorations/wrapping paper) - and we go to Target. Everything is within a 10 minute drive of home. We are usually home by 9am - and all the boys are still fast asleep!

I rather like shopping...as long as I'm not the one doing the shopping.
What I mean is I love to go pick-up a cup o' joe and just watch all the Christmas craziness and walk around looking at the lovely decorations. The parts of shopping I do not like are having to search the shelves, get behind slow shoppers, and wait in the check-out line.
I just got home from the supermarket for my Thanksgiving items and it was busy enough. I made the mistake of bringing four young girls with me. Garrett did his best to control them but they picked up on the holiday maddness. I can control my own to a point. Other people's children aren't always so easy. Glad I went today and not tomorrow.

oh I wish I could go with! this is about my speed; I might go, but to one or two stores only for a few items.
maybe in a few years Maria will be awake for joining me, and we could make it a mother daughter outing.
We will be in wisconsin dells this thanksgiving (a first for us- indoor waterparks!!) and so will be in a different type of crazy!

We go every year...with a dear friend...now my daughter is old enough to come along and not whine (much). Part of the trip is real shopping, but most of it is just fun. We play in housewares, eat lunch, laugh at the goony upside-down Christmas trees at Macy's, etc. Meanwhile my dh (bless him) stays home and makes amazing turkey soup for our dinner.
How cool is that!?

Black Friday is my favorite day of the year to be at home! We use this day to hang out by the fire, eat leftovers, and do crafty things, like making gifts. I might venture online for some of the Black Friday fun there, while I sip my coffee, with my feet up...that's more my speed! Having said that, we live in the middle of nowhere and I would have to drive at least an hour to get to anything resembling a Black Friday sale anyway - totally not worth it!

No place near here except for Walmart, and there is no way I am going to be doing THAT--the only big retailer for many many miles? On Black Friday? No. While I'd love to save the money, there is no way I can do it..no way...

Ditto to every word you said!
My husband and I went out the year I was pregnant with my first. It was fun to do together, we had no time constraints, no kids, and wedding money left over to spend. Also, my husband is a fantastically efficient get-what-you-need-and-get-out kind of shopper -- so shopping in that environment is do-able with him. I roam around checking my list 40 times and can't think because of all the people.
This BF he's gonna be away on a hunting trip so I'm just gonna stay in with the kiddies.
