It's the time of year that our hearts all turn to charity and when it's one of our members, it's even more important. Michele Q's 8yod was diagnosed with Type1 diabetes this summer and than Matthew, her 4 yos was diagnosed this Fall. They don't have insurance thru hubby's work and thru a snafu have lost their public insurance -- at least for a while.
Margot Davidson at Hillside Education has set up a "bake sale" to help raise funds for the Quigley's by selling items from various folks. Here's my blog post that will give you more info, or you can go right to thepage Margot set up and do some shopping. We'll be adding things over the next week or so (I'll be adding some hand-knit items for your gift-giving pleasure ) so keep checking back.
Blessings to you all and prayers for the Quigleys.

Hi Everyone,
My server has been receiving so many hits that it's getting cranky. So thanks for your interest in helping out.
However, when this happened once before, some of the orders got mixed up. In the next 24 hours, I will be contacting everyone who has placed an order to be sure I have it right. If you placed an order and DON'T hear from me, then it's possible something got mixed up. So PLEASE PM me.
For new orders, I highly recommendthat you don't follow the link in Mary's post but go directly to the main page of the Hillside website (hillside education dot com) and then go to the Helping those in need page (linked at the left side of the screen).
Again, thank you for your generosity. God reward you!!!
Margot

If there is still a problem here, let me know.
Thanks for your service at Helping Those in Need.

Thanks for this great idea, Margot. I'll be praying for Michele's family, too.

I'll be joining Margot's efforts and will be having a "$10 sale" on the learning style test through the first week in December with all proceeds going to the Quigley's. Ignore the usual fee when you register
http://www.mercyacademy.net/testing.htm
and please pass the word as I don't have a blog. If you are not familiar with the evaluation, you'll find it to be very comprehensive and helpful, especially if you are struggling with a child. There are reviews on the site from love2learn and others. If you would like to offer this service as a gift, please e-mail me.
Margot, please check your pm.

Hello Everyone,
I am writing to update this original post to say that Margot has chosen another family to highlight this month...and it hits very close to home for me, and I wanted to bring a little attention to this situation if I could.
Mandy and David Stephens are a homeschooling family back home from where I moved from last year. Mandy is a very sweet, very humble lady....she helped lead our area's conference a few years ago, she has really gone out of her way to help others in the community (she came over one time, brainstorming with me how to sew some things for my ds's trach) This family has been dealt a devestating blow last Spring. David was diagnosed with a terminal neurological disease. He is currently receiving hospice care at home, and is terminal. Mandy is valiantly trying to homeschool three young children with some special needs of their own, while working part time as a nurse to keep food on the table.
In your charity, if you could visit Hillside, and help anyway you can....witness the Body of Christ to this family....it would be a real blessing to them.
A Very Blessed Advent to ALL!!!
