Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for catalog/website suggestions for ordering kids' gifts (toys, games, books, etc.).The selection at out local stores leaves much to be desired. I have ordered many Christmas and birthday gifts from Rainbow Resource over the past couple of years with great success, but I'd like some other options now. My boys are 7 and 13. Any specific gift ideas would be appreciated as well. I like to get the Christmas shopping out of the way before Advent begins, so it's time to start and I am really low on ideas this year.
Thanks,
Dana (sunnyviewmom)

I found these last year.. and think they're just so neat.. but I haven't gotten any because of the smaller kids and no where safe to keep them accessable but out of reach of littles.

Yeah - right here in Denver . We used to go to their orignal shop before they moved to a bigger headquarters further north.

Thanks for the responses. I am checking out the catalogs on the web and am starting to get some inspiration for gift possibilities.

Zomes look great! I had seen these at Rainbow Resoucre in the past but had forgotten all about them. I'm thinking of ordering a big set for the boys to share. Looks like the kind of thing they would have lots of fun with.

Thanks for the suggestions and inspirations.

I think it was MaryM who tipped us off to Keva planks. We got some...and they are really a great toy. Especially as one big gift for the whole family. Plus, they are made in the USA.

I got my through Rainbow Resources, but there are a lot of places to get them. Here is their homepage.

I love Hearthsong and Magic Cabin. Other than that, I do most of my shopping through Amazon.

Wow! Keva planks look great too. Question for Betsy: What size set would you recomend? I think with building sets, usually the more pieces the better, but obviously price is always a consideration.

I have three boys playing with them (8,6,3) and I got 400 planks. For us this has been a really good amount. They can pool the planks together to make the bigger structures or still have a good amount to build individually.

We really like these....
