I received an application form for a Challenge weekend for girls ages 10-16 in Miami. It is a group sponsored by Regnum Christi, so I have no doubt as to the adherance to the magisterium in all things. I just know so few people and have no idea what kind of atmosphere there is and if this would be something beautiful for my dd12.
Unfortunately, their website is not yet finished.
Does anyone have any experience with this group?

Stephanie, My daughter has been involved with Challenge Girls Club for 2 years now. She has been on a few weekends and went on convention this past summer. My sons have been part of Conquest - the boys club 'version' of this for 7 years. While neither are perfect, I have seen some wonderful fruits. Do you have specific questions?

Mary Chris and Lisa,
thanks for responding. I know next to nothing about the whole weekend, other than the RC connection, therefore reliable.
I am interested in it for dd's sake, that she has the chance to meet faithful catholic girls her age, that could possibly lead to a true friendship.
I can't really expect for her to find a friend, but at least to experience other girls who share the same beliefs and lifestyle. So, my question is, What do they do on such a weekend?

She will definetly meet other girls her age that share her faith. She will have good, clean, goofy fun, here some great personal testimonies from some of the girls, have adoration, virtue talks team leaders and concecrated women, have the opportuntity for confession. Daily mass, and again, fun! :) My daughter made a friend on a weekend retreat over two years ago - and they write to each other monthly!

But where can I get a bit more detailed info for this particular weekend or group? That website just seemed to funnel me into the pay $$$ form without showing what it is all about, goals, activities, etc...

I stay way clear of anything having to do with Regnum Christi. I was involved in FAMILIA for 4 years way back when it began and when it was just coming under the Regnum Christi umbrella. Many people have concerns about the organization. I am running out the door, unfortunately, and would be happy to share my concerns if you want to pm me. I know others have been happy with the group so I don't want to start a debate here.

This is said by many people, about many different Lay Movements, all of them actually! There are good and bad folks in everything - that original sin and all. John Paul II approved RC - that speaks volumes.

In case someone is interested in how it went...
Just wanted to report that my dd loved the weekend!
I was so impressed by the young consecrated women leading the retreat.
Dd seems to have grown a couple of notches over the weekend and it definitely strengthened her in her Faith and challenged her too.
