Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ugh! I am trying to be kind and charitable here...but my patience is wearing very very thin.

When we moved into our home 5 years ago, one of the main things we loved was that it was sort of isolated without being in the middle of nowhere. Well, just in the last two months, someone bought the acreage to the west of us and is putting in not one, two, or three houses...but FOUR new homes. Grr. Then the elderly lady to our east sold, and now we have a bunch of little kids punching and kicking and screaming each other at 10 o' clock at night on their trampoline. Next, the man across the street won a large settlement and is putting in new garages/sheds/basketball court/etc on his property. Very noisy. Dusty. Serious eye sores.

FINALLY...the middle aged couple who lived behind us moved and now a divorced man lives there who is OBVIOUSLY trying to buy his 10 year olds affection by getting him a new dirt bike, then 4-wheeler, then dune buggy, then rifles, etc. every other day. Well, last night the 10 year old, told my son that they are building a motorcross course (with jumps and all) on the property...and guess where, not close to their home...but right on the edge of the property line, by OUR HOUSE.

Sigh. What do we do? Can we do anything?

I'm really upset. It's bad enough to have to hear the stupid 4-wheelers and dirt bikes riding all hours of the day and night but now to have to look out my kitchen window and see huge ugly mounds of dirt! This is what my kids are going to want to do to, I'm sure. Then I'll be the mean mom who won't let them hang at the neighbors. sigh.

I don't know what to do. Thanks for letting me vent.

BTW..pray that my husband doesn't explode on this guy...I feel it brewing. My husband is a patient man but he's getting seriously disgusted by everything. It's just too much. We are looking into moving (like we have the money..ha) or getting a 8 foot privacy fence. It's that bad. **breathe in, breathe out**

I think the first thing you'd need to check on is if there is any ordinances you can use.. for instance barking dogs (incessant type especially after 10pm) can be fined by the city.

Ditto what Jodie wrote. I'm on the development code for our county. Residents need to obtain permission from all adjoining property owners and approval from the county board, in addition to following the ordinance.
