I'd love to share with you the endevours of Jenny's (amethyst) 15 year old daughter, who is raising money to get to WYD in Madrid in 3 years time ~ such a blessed way to work and raise money for this pilgrimage ~ Elizabeth's Rosaries ~ She is very talented, not expensive and posts cheaply, worldwide.

Elizabeth, your journey to Madrid will be paved making one Hail Mary at a time...I know you'll get there!

Yes Mary, this lovely girl is a fairly recent convert, and has a very deep and fervent love of her Catholic faith, it just all makes her dream and goal so very beautiful.

The pastor at the parish dh works for just mentioned the idea of planning for WYD in Spain. We are thrilled at the possibility of getting to go. Perhaps I'll order one of these rosaries to pray for that intention with, then maybe we'll both get there!

Thank you Anne for the encouragement you give to Elizabeth! Her desire to go to WYD Madrid is HUGE - she prayed for the last 2 years to be able to attend WYD in Sydney, but the small group leaving from our diocese would only take 16+ and she was only 14. She got to carry the Icon when the WYD Cross and Icon came to our church in May, and she committed then to start working towards the next one in 2011.
Making the rosaries as a fundraiser has allowed her to dig deeper into her faith as well as work in her own individual love of creative things.
This week she even began Spanish lessons - she WILL get there, I know it. I am very proud to be her mother...her love for the Church, Christ, Our Lady, *and* St Francis is the fuel that propels her towards a life set aside to serve God.
