The University of San Diego had offered a theology chair position to known dissenter from Church teachings, Rosemary Radford Ruether. But the University rescinded the chair and didn't hire Ruether. Now, women activists are signing petitions to try to force the University to hire her--they are aiming to collect four thousand signatures. So Catholics are trying to raise signatures supporting the University and commending them for not hiring Ruether.
