The note before posting said to let everyone know a bit about yourself in the fireside chat section, but when I clicked on the link it said the topic is closed; so I thought I would post a little hello here, Moderator feel free to move it if this is the wrong spot.
My name is Vanessa, I am 25. Married to my plumber husband for almost 4 years. We have 2 sons, Luke, 3 yo, Eric, 1yo and another due Jan 30th. I was homeschooled most of my life and my husband for highschool. We know we want to homeschool and at this time I am researching and aiming for a Charlotte Mason style education.
I am looking for early childhood ideas at the moment, mostly in the area of phonics, as it is my understanding that in addition to living books you still need phonics and math.
I am really getting forward to getting to know you all better after "lurking" for a while. You all have such great ideas!!

Hi Vanessa, and welcome. Thanks for pointing out the gliche in the welcome letter. We recently separated out the introduction thread (it was sooooooo long!) by year and the link sent you to the original 2005 thread. The current thread is here. But it is fine that you posted your intro anyway. I'm moving it to the the Mother Nurture section (which is where the intro threads generally are found).
It is interesting having members who were themselves homeschooled - love hearing that perspective! So hope you jump right in.

We sound very similar! I have a 3 y.o, a 1 y.o and one due in March. I've been married for 4 years but I wasn't homeschooled :) I'm mostly a lurker but there are so many great ideas here!
