A couple of years ago, I bought boy's board shorts at Wal-Mart - not sure how you feel about shopping there and not looking to start any controversy - but they were $10.00 a piece there.

Found some board shorts for my girls there this year and they were also $10.00.

Land's End, if I remember correctly, might be an option!

I don't know if they're technically boardshorts, but I bought some cheap polyester "quick drying" shorts at Academy a couple of years ago. I wear them over my swimsuit when we are sailing.

the rise on those looks a little low if you look where her belly button is.
ds has bought Hurley used and new on ebay for pretty good prices, but I second the target idea, or do a search on ebay for "board shorts" and the size/color you are looking for. I got some cool pink hibiscus ones for myself a few years back for 9.99. they were brand new, and have held up great!

I found ours at Old Navy. just got the ones in the boys department.
paired it with a uv rash guard shirt.
