Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Lawn mowing season is upon us. Do your husbands and children come in with cut grass all over their socks?

My dh tries to help by turning the socks inside out. It isn't a good solution.

What do you do? It doesn't shake out. I seem to require an isolated load of grassy socks.

Of course, it's much better than hairy socks. Yuck.

Nope because no one in our house wears socks in the yard! We're crocs people around here....they get leftin a basket at the back door, I spray it with the house in the evening, and by the morning, they are dry and ready for another round...Each of my kids has a pair of church socks, a pair of soccer socks, and a pair of white socks just in case the occasion arises to need them...pretty pitiful, huh.

the only time we have grassy socks is while mowing.. and that's easy to solve with long pants and hiking boots (something that comes up higher on the ankle)

Otherwise we're rather like Colleen.. kids have a few pairs of socks for wearing for sports.. but mostly they're barefoot or in crocs with no socks.

Yes, it's lawn mowing. Dh wears socks and tennis shoes and shorts. It's the socks that are the problem. And when ds goes out to help, he's wearing socks right now. He'll switch to sandals soon. I don't do crocs, though.

Sorry, Jenn. I was thinking of kiddos running around in fresh cut grass. I think Greg must wear his rubber boots when he rides the mower and uses the weed wacker, because I've never noticed this sock thing before.

I had to respond to your question because it sort of made me laugh that we don't really have dirty socks around here except during soccer seasons.

Now dirty jeans, that's another story.....

No apologies necessary, Colleen. That's good you don't have to deal with the socks. It's a conundrum here, or at least an annoyance. I think feet are more easily cleaned than socks. I prefer barefoot or sandals as a rule.
