Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I thought it'd be a great time to tell you about our moving plans ...

Dh has been asked to help set-up the new high school in NoVA -- Pope John Paul the Great -- the first high school in the nation to have a bioethics track (which he'll help teach while he and a Dominican sister write the text book that will used). How cool is that?

So .... all you NoVA folks ... we'll be heading out in June to look for suitable housing in the Dumfries area and will be quite anxious for me and the kiddoes to hook up with other wonderful homeschooled folks ...

Please all keep us in your prayers as we set out on yet ANOTHER crazy adventure ... trying our best to do God's will....

Funny, I'm the first to respond. We got the news a few days ago and let me say we are really here, but our loss is NoVA's gain. You guys are really lucky to have Mary G. in your area. She will be missed here in Colorado! On a lighter note - I hope it will now be easier again for you all to tell us apart since we won't both still be from Denver.

One the other hand, that's a great project and you'll be moving to a great area!

I'll keep you in my prayers.

You'll be right around my neck of the woods!!! Glory BEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Write or call if you have any questions, Mary. Dh and I are watching the establishment of this school very closely, and to hear this news...well, I'm about to run and tell dh. I'm simply thrilled!

Mary,

I am so excited for you and your family! I can't wait for you to help me move my knitting to the next level . Yes it is always about me . I second what Jenn offered, I am happy to help you in any way I can.

Mary M, I am sorry that you are losing Mary. I hope though, that you will come out to visit more often. Or maybe one day we will both be visiting our families in SD at the same time.

Oh MaryM -- your loss is our gain!!

Yay Mary!! We don't live in Dumfries, but we live in PWC. The Manassas area has two big homeschooling groups -- I'm sure Dumfries/Woodbridge does too!!

And the bioethics thing... totally cool.

Mary G,

Is your husband affiliated/familiar with the NCBCin Philadelphia? If not, they would probably be a good somewhat local resource.

Of course, I'm completely ignorant of all the goings ons. It would also make sense if they were already involved. It sounds like something that Dr. Haas would be affiliated with.

Congratulations on your move. JP the Great has so much potential. It is great to hear that good people are working behind the scenes to develop such a worthwhile curriculum.

We are in Springfield, which is just up 95!

You will be in our prayers for a safe and uneventful move.

Thanks y'all for your cheering us on -- this will be our 5th move in 11 years of marriage, but we've always tried to do God's will in everything and this is definitely a perfect fit for Rick!

MacBeth -- we were looking at train schedules and I immediately thought of all the folks up NY-way that we could visit!

And Lindsay, yes the NCBC is helping with the funding and resources for the textbook project. Rick is a member and keeps up with all the literature.

Can't wait to meet all y'all IRL!

That is what my 8 year old son hopes as well. Just wish that gas wasn't projected to be going to $4/gallon.

Which could mean if you wait awhile she may end up living near the rest of you at some point!

Mary! I totally missed this before. How exciting for us VA folks!

I used to live in Dumfries, in Montclair. Wonderful community, I really miss it. I know you said Arlington in your prayer request, but if you are still looking to be close to the school, pm me and I can help you with locations to look at.

JPII looks like it could be great. Sadly, the other diocesan high schools leave much to be desired (I graduated from one). But with this school being run by the Nashville Dominicans and now your dh, my hopes are high!

Unfortunately, even if we wanted our kids to go there, and could afford it, it would still be quite a commute.

Good luck to you. Can't wait to meet you!

One more plug for Dumfries- there is a great homeschool group up there and you will be in between two wonderful parishes, one of them being mine!

I was plugging for Mary to live closer to Independent Hill, (that's where my parents reside) so she could come to my parish!
