I know there is a yahoo group for just about every topic. I was wondering if anyone could recommend one for Catholics, preferably one income families, struggling with finances.
We have a lot of debt and I am finding it hard to cope with and curb our spending. I would like to find a support network in this struggle. But I don't want to deal with people questioning why I don't work outside the home, or why we have 8 children if money is an issue.
Thanks!

I typed in "catholic finances" and didn't find anything family-oriented or even close. I'd love to start one just to get one going - let me think about it a bit.
Anyone else interested in joining?

I'd be interested. My biggest struggle is pride? prosperity gospel attitude?? maybe? I think deep down I believed if we were "good" for so many years (and we have been, never any help from family, paid off masters loans and two undergrads almost completely, no credit cards, etc) that God would bless us. So here we sit, struggling mightily and things seem HARDER than they were all those years ago.
and, I HAVE worked on and off part time, it doesn't seem to be the answer, at least for us.
count me in!

I'm interested. It is very hard to stay motivated to reduce debt, remain frugal and teach our children to spend more wisely than we have.

catholic_finances -
I set it up pretty straight forward for right now. We can develop it as we need to.
