Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Being a military family about to move AGAIN (this will be the 6th time in our 7 years of marriage) I am starting to get ready and doing research on our new location. PAX RIVER is the base my husband will be stationed at, in Maryland. I am on a quest to find out everything I can this month about neighborhoods, churches, homeschooling groups, autism support groups, and schools. I am not sure if I will choose to homeschool or not next year. If I find a very good Catholic School I may want to give it a chance. Or I may tap into some of the resources in the public schools for speech therapy for my son. So...is anyone from this area?
We move in March so even if we do choose to send my son to school that will not be until next August...

Well I don't live there so I can't give you the scoop, but I can tell you it is beautiful there! The base is big, and there is a great MWR facility with a beach, pools and cabins or tent camping.

My dh says the base facilities are great...expect humidity and bugs in the summer...I'll look some more, though!

Can't add much, but I was born at PAX some years ago .    My dad was in the Army, but with the Navy test pilot school. They had a sweet little house in a tiny neighborhood--my mom loved the whole, oh, less than a year that they were there.

Actually, my dh was stationed there before we were married and he loved it. He had a great little apartment and he had everything he needed.
