Ok, folks,

I read this article today and thought that maybe we should collectively send him cards telling him how much we appreciate his vocation and witness?

Here's article.

I just spoke with the secretary at the parish – Father wasn’t there, but she said he would LOVE to hear from us. Additionally, she said that Father gave the interview with the intention of drawing in a fraternity of priests for support. That was to be the theme of the article – THEN – the reporter went off and used the loneliness theme - so while the priest had one idea for the article, another became the focus!

This is our archdiocese. I never read the paper, but happened to be at the dentist alone yesterday (that never happens) and read this article...
What a sweet idea, Maria! The ladies of this board never cease to amaze me with how generous they are!

What a small world -- I am from CT (near his parish) and my mom knows this priest. One year we were on vacation in upstate NY at a very old family run resort on a small lake... and Father Looney just happened to be there. He said Mass for us everyday at 7:30 am and had a crowd that filled the lobby of the hotel everyday (there was no chapel at this resort).

We were so grateful because the town only had Mass once or twice a week.
