......besides this one? These are my favorite boards, and it meets ALL of my needs, except one. I would like to have a place to talk to or be inspired by other childbirth teachers............I have been feeling kind of burned-out for the last two years...........but I will stick with it as the money is too easy to give up, right now.
That got me thinking: are there any boards that you visit, besides this one? Do you have another favorite place to hang out or eavesdrop?
BTW, anyone else teach childbirth classes on here?

Well, the Five in a Row boards are my first "home" and that is actually where I first heard of Elizabeth Foss, then I started reading her blog...then bought her book...then found a few other blogs (namely Dawn, Melissa and Cay) and then I found HERE! And I love everything I've read!

FIAR is the only other board I visit and that's maybe once a week if I'm lucky.

I lurk at CMOMC (Catholic Mom community) and I spend a lot of time on the board for my local Attachment Parenting Int'l chapter. The moms at the latter I get to meet in person and have playgroups and such with. That's been really nice.

4 real and fiar are the most frequently read
caf is read somewhat regularly although I go through phases where I don't post for a while
homeschool tracker is very occassional as I only check it when I'm having a problem or looking for update info
then I have a board that I made for my local homeschool group, so I visit it very frequently, but it's not nearly as active as the others listed above.
I check the Magnum Opus yahoo group about once a week or so. I really hate yahoo and mass emails in general, so I tend to neglect that one, a shame because I really love that group of folks over there.

Defenders of the Catholic Faith (Steve Ray's online forums) is where I spend the vast majority of my time. Lovely group of ladies there, in the two ladies' forums (the rest, other than the gentlemen's forum) are open to both genders..there are ones on apologetics, general Catholicism, etc. Its a great group of folks, in general, and VERY well moderated.

I don't. Because I don't have time....and I can barely get to this one.
This one gets number one priority----if I'm going to the computer at all. I am addicted to all of you and go through withdrawal when I am away for periods.

I've been thinking a lot about online relationships lately and have come to see that this board is my equivalent of a homeschool bus stop comparable to the public school bus stop across the street from my house. It has lots of people who have many things in common, there are deep ideas, issues to pray about, tips to share, and chatty conversations to have (minus the gossip, praise God!).
When the moms leave the stop, they often break into smaller groups and go off to work out or get a cup of coffee together. From here, I have gone one and made personal relationships based on similar interests (and often physical geography) which happen through email/phone calls and get togethers.
Sometimes at the real bus stop, I'll see someone seek out one neighbor for specialized information or help; for me that is visiting blogs. When I have a specific need--usually school related--I will search out the answers by going to a yahoo list or the blog of a person I know will be able to help with that specific question.
Since I've been able to sort of think this out, I've realized that I don't need another forum (I don't participate in other forums anyway); I should be focusing my time on my inbox, building relationships with the people whose faces I would recognize, whose voices I can hear. That's my personal approach anyway

Very nice analogy, Rachel. And I argee. This board is great - handling a wide range of topics. I don't know if I'd hesitate posting about any topic from vacuums to the Vatican!

This is the only board I visit regularly - I go to an English adoption board sometimes too. I just don't have the time to even read here as much as I would wish to.

This is my main board. I am on the local Catholic homeschool list, but, um, they aren't real big on "discussion."
Some other boards I read somewhat regularly are Catholic Spitfire Grill, and Catholic Sonlight (and a small spin-off there of), though not as much anymore, as I just don't have time....

I occasionally post and ask Seton related questions on the Seton yahoo group, but other then that, 4 Real has everything. I mostly sit back and soak up all the wisdom here from all of you wonderful Catholic ladies, I have learned so much here and have grown and matured as a Catholic, a wife, and a mother through this board and all of the blogs I frequent. I literally cried and prayed with all my heart when the board went down for a week (or was it two?) I thought it was all coming to an end.
I like the bus stop anaolgy too; I also appreciate that I can "hang out" at the bus stop at any hour and times that fit my schedule.
This board has been an amazing gift to me and in turn to my family.

I lurk a lot at the Well Trained Mind forums, but this is where I tend to contribute more.
In my "former life," Chari, I taught childbirth classes and was a doula, but gave that up after our family started to grow. The Mothering board is an interesting place to lurk for childbirth-related discussion. I also came across this one. What 'method' do you teach?

A great board that I check with daily is Michele Q's, On Pins and Needles where there is some great discussions of crafts and incorporating them into the home and for my knitting design business, the Association of Knitwear Designers' forum -- but this is IT for homeschool/living a Catholic life.....

I love the bus stop analogy. Here is pretty much it for me. I visit Justmommies sometimes, the Catholic Moms forum and the Homebirth forum there.
Chari, I used to be certified through Birthworks as a CBE and doula, like Valerie, that was in my 'former life'!

This is my favorite place online.
I'm on several others -
Catholic Homeschoolers of One Child (not too many of us so is a VERY quiet place.)
Sailing Homeschoolers (dominated by a nasty person who is the only one to do things the "right" way - ick)
Two locals, one for the Upper Keys, one for the Lower (mostly about park days)
A 35' Coronado Sailboat one (friendly, helpful, even met up with a sister ship in Key Largo due to the site)
