Hi,
Can you tell be about lead free dinnerware and lead free cookware?
I would also like these items to come from somewhere other than china.
I did find flatware that was not made in china. It was quite a chore!
Oneida has some styles that do not come from china.
I found cookware that was not made in china, but, it was lead safe as oppose to lead free.

What brands can you recommend?

Fiesta Dinnerware have been made in the USA since 1871 and are lead free. It says so right on the front page.

Fiestaware is wonderful! I've had cobalt blue for years and I'd say we haven't broken a single piece...almost broken some toes with a few drops to the floor! The best bowl is their chili bowl...that's what they call it I believe. We use it for cereal and ice cream!

It's relatively inexpensive and you can get at places like JCPenney's and there's a big choice of colors! Great way to add some color without overwhelming yourself (can you tell I'm afraid to paint the walls!)

Good question!!! I'll be interested to hear about cookware for sure too!

I was just talking to my oldest sister about this lastnight. She bought Fiestaware for that reason. She really likes it. She is having more trouble finding flatware that is lead free. I hadn't thought about cookware. I may ask sis when I get the chance. She may know of some.

I love my non-stick cookware from the Pampered Chef and I know that it is not made in China (it says Thailand on the back). The company does so much research before they bring any product out, and I am sure there is no lead in the cookware. If you want more information, PM me, and I can get in touch with the company.

As far as I can tell.. Lodge Cast Iron is made in the US... and cast iron skillets are excellent (check if you have a flat top stove if you can use it or not), also dutch ovens and such.

For cookware, I primarily have Corning Ware and Pyrex for baking and Revere Ware (stainless steel) for stovetop cooking. All these companies are owned by
World Kitchen, LLC. I've been very happy with the quality and durability of my cookware. Oh, and they all say Made in USA!

We also have the Corelle dishes and Oneida flatware. DH picked up some cheapie flatware at Sam's Club last year (before Thanksgiving, which we were hosting), and I just checked where they are made: Brazil.

My Mikasa Flatware say Korea on the backside and other sets of the dishes that I clicked on while I was at their site said Made in Portugal while a few other dishes simply said Import. I don't know about the lead issue and I don't know how much help any of this was!
