I do veil, my oldest daughter, 10, does often, but not all of the time. She does it when she thinks of it. My middle daughter does not, I don't allow it, it is too much of a distraction to her right now. I've been thinking of when I will begin to 'strongly' encourage them to, and right now I am inclined to say when they are confirmed.

My 8 year old daughter (so do I) does veil. We recently started veiling and it was her prompting that started it. She thought it was so beautiful........and it is!  My 3 year old does veil but often plays with her veil more during Mass than anything.  It's a distraction but I'm hoping the novelty of it will wear off soon, since she just received her veil. Dh and I agreed to have them definitely start veiling by First Communion age.

Okay, then, I can answer now 
We have always veiled, from the time they were 1.5 maybe? Just used a bobby pin....and a little tiny veil.
We have always attended the TLM so everyone around us was doing it, too. Easy to fit in. Easy peer pressure for the girls.

All of us girls veil for Mass. (we attend the TLM) and we begin when they are born with a baby bonnet and that way they are always use to it. those from 1 1/2-3 are notorious for messing with the veil but they learn.

We all veil. (We also attend the TLM) When we go to the Novus Ordo, which we attend every other Sunday- long story- the 11dd and 13dd don't. I hope they will do it on their own some day.
Lisa, I love the idea of a bonnet. I'm going to have to get one for our new little blessing when she's born.

Like others all of us girls veil. Girl babies have worn bonnets or hats and when they were about 1 1/2 - 2 I have a small veil that ties under the chin like bonnets do. (it is so cute!) They are use to the bonnet on them so the veil isn't to big of deal for them to adjust too. But yes you will go thru a pulling off stage just like they pull your own veil off when you hold them.

I veil, and we usually have a bonnet on my one-year-old daughter (though she doesn't always keep it on for the entire Mass!  ). My husband and I are planning to gift her with her own veil at her First Communion, and I think after that we'll make it a required thing, just as we would make her wear her "Sunday best" to Mass. But we'll see--if she asked for one earlier, I would certainly give her one to use when she wants to.
For those interested, I just ordered the bonnet pattern from Amy Karol's Kingpod, and I am itching to get started on a few more wintery bonnets. My daughter seems to tolerate that latter kind of a bit better since there's nothing obstructing her vision. (Out of sight, out of mind! )

Almost all the time- mass (Novus Ordo, where a veil looks to affected), shopping, dinner out, etc. Hats work better for me when I am nursing, as well. I have a lovely yellow straw hat for summer, a white straw hat for dressier occasions, and navy, black, and purple brimmed wool hats for winter. Men treat you like a LADY when you wear a hat.
My 15 year old wants to, but hats are more expensive than veils.I told her when she is 16, we'll discuss it.
My 11 and 8 year old dds are interested as well, but it would be a) expensive and B) too much of a distraction at mass.
Look, with 9 kids, our family already stands out and gets stared at... at mass, piling out of our big airport van, going out to a restaurant... so I don't want the added "funkiness" of veils making us look unapproachable. We have had lots of occasions for discussions with strangers about Catholicism- many of whom think our family is lovely and wonder "Are you Mormon?" It turns out many of these folks are fallen away Catholics, who just never saw Catholic family life "done right." I hope we give them something to chew on.
As far as covering in mass, it also makes us more approachable to wear hats, lest people get the impression that you need to be VERY different to really try living the Catholic faith.

Brenda, I see them very often in thrift shops for under 1.00.
You can also take a pretty piece of lace or whatever fabric you like and cut one out, then a quick hem, add ribbon to tie if you like.
As for the original question, yes my dd's veil. Regardless of which mass we attend. They understand why we veil and have no problem to doing it. We are blessed with seeing a HUGE influx of veilers at our local masses. It seems the majority of them are in their twenties.

I don't, but not for lack of wanting to, just for lack of courage, and fear of really standing out. We attend a LARGE parish (really large), and no one veils, as far as I can tell.
Wish I were braver  ....

Oh, and I do like the veils at Halo Works as the lace is SO soft, and drapes so nicely. I have gotten a few others from other places, and the lace was just too stiff and didn't drape at all.
The ones I have gotten from here are lovely. Oh, except the "whisper veil" one, that one not so much.

I hear you Laura, I was the same for at least 10 yrs, maybe 15! Then I took a private survey of women I knew who veiled and why. It was so beautiful and convicting to me, that I could not turn away. It was hard the first month. I felt sooooo conspicious, I did not want others to attribute motives that I did not have. Then a friend told me she felt the same way and we can not control others thoughts of us, so I just relaxed. So true!!!

Macmom, this is lovely. I don't veil or "hat" at the moment, but if I were to be called to cover my head I'd definitely choose a hat, because it's MUCH more traditional.

My daughter and I recently purchased veils from Halo-works. They are so lovely and so soft. But I am like Laura, a bit afraid to put on the veil.  Our family already stands out since we homeschool. I just do not want to add fuel to the fire.
But I keep hoping that when we move (it seems like it is taking forever), we can just start off wearing the veils right away.
I do like the hat idea. Maybe I can be a bit more inspired with that as well.
