Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Last year someone linked to their blog that had the most adorable Christmas picture, 3 little ones holding pieces of canvas that spelled out JOY.
I am thinking about doing somthing similar but spelling out PEACE, or PEACE ON EARTH. I don't want to look to hippyish , but I am thinking about printing out some peace signs and a picture of the earth to for us to hold. Or we could spell out P E A C E and stand above something that resembles earth.
I also bought a cute Stampin' Up set that has a lion and a lamb to tie into this theme.

What are some favorite pictures you have done or recieved. I know it seems early but did someone say last week that Christmas is 10 weeks away?

HI! I don't know if ya'll can post a picture directly into a post here, if so I haven't figured it out yet.

But, I just put a picture of our JOY Christmas card from 2 years ago on my blog. I LOVE this idea and it was probably one of my favorite cards ever!

I hope it gives you some ideas for your card! :)

Candace, so cute! I'll have to think about that one...this is the first year I won't have a little baby for someone to have to hold onto...now my baby can hold something (she's 2 1/2!)...I want to be more creative this year!

We haven't done this but my good friend had her children dress as all the parts of the Nativity scene. She had a newborn baby then (he was almost 2 mos) so he was Jesus. She has 3 girls and 3 other boys, besides the baby. So she had Mary and Jospeh, an angel, a cow, and some shepherds...it was WAY cute! They stood in their backyard in front of the tower part of their wooden swing set. You couldn't see the swing part...it just looked like the front of a stable. I'd say it was the best Christmas card picture we have every received! My kids left it on the fridge for months!

I love all the creative ideas -- Candace the card looks great.

Unfortunately, I'm not even at a creative picture stage -- I'm torn over WHEN to take this year's picture... we're due with baby boy in early January.

Part of me wants to wait until he comes to take pictures of ALL of us... and send Epiphany cards. Although that sounds like way too much craziness - a newborn, a baptism, a postpartum family picture, Epiphany cards, and learning at home...

The other part of me, that is getting very pregnant, wants to have the picture done early in November so it can be "checked off my list."

But I love all the food for thought!

I love the nativity idea, too! If our Caleb had been a little smaller his first Christmas I would have definitely done that one! :)

I also saw another cute one that I thought about trying...

dress all your children as angels - white sheets, wings, halos (somehow?) And the front of the card would say "Hark the Herald Angels Sing!" (or anything about angels, really!)

I thought with an all white background (I was going to hang a white sheet as our background) it would be really cute!!

Candace

Maryan:
I think it would be neat to have a Christmas pic with all the boys and dh around you and your tummy! Maybe put a bow on your tum or something? pretend like the boys are wrapping belly in gift wrap? A "holy family" picture....you as mary?

I always wanted to be ready to burst at Thanksgiving/beg of December, simply to take a Christmas picture like that. But, of course, I never worked out all the details cuz it never happened!

This sounds so adorable, but there's no way I'm going to talk my 10yo into an angel costume!

Hey there's an idea!

Although I went to the doctor's this morning... and have gained a whopping four pounds in two weeks.       This bow might have to be mighty big... next to my superslim dh!!!
