Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can someone explain paypal to me ? do I need a credit card ? I wanted to oder from a place and they only take paypal . I also see on the yahoo used items lists most people take paypal which I like the idea of as it beats a MO trip to the PO . However if ayal takes using a credit card then why not just use a credit card ?
Thanks , Roxie

Hi,
Yes, you can sign up with paypal with a credit card or your bank account and it enables you to send payments (and receive them too.) It makes it easier for buyers if they want to use a credit or debit card to pay for something. And for small sellers, it is a way to take credit cards without having to have a merchant account.

For instance, if I sold something on ebay or a homeschool swap list, I don;t have any way to accept a payment from a credit card, as I am not a merchant. But by using paypal it offers buyers another option to pay, and it is instant for me to receive it (no waiting for money orders that sometimes have problems, etc.)

HTH,
~Laura in AZ

Another idea, my dh is not keen on me having paypal, however an irl friend does, so whenever I want to buy something on ebay she will 'pay' for me and I give her the cash. A true friend indeed

Hi Erin , I do use my Mum's card actually for amazon & chapters . I do the same I order and pay her . However and this is totally her problem I know but then on the other hand she wouldn't have it if I didn't use her card . She has a hard time putting the money back on her visa card when I pay her so I just try not to urchase to often from those places I thought if paypal was non credit card and just out of my account I can at least shop second hand and ebay . I usually have done MO until this spring a lady ripped me off . why rip off homeschool families I wrote her .I told her we have had to be on social assistance even use the food bank at times when dh quit his job and we were very hard up for 3 months . Then again I would not intentionaly rip anyone off like that . So I am now a bit cautious about MO unless from this board or very intimate place not yahoo groups anymore unless I can buy new or this payal sounds like a good option .
However maybe Mum needs to try harder at making those depsoits too
Thanks again , Roxie
