Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

In trying to find a rhythm here with a new baby and all I think I need to go back to that idea I once loved but forgot about. . .the idea of "pegs" (those important things in a day that you try to get done).

I believe Leonie is a master at doing this, if not the founder of the idea.

If you keep this practice, what are your major "pegs". I think I have too many "pegs."

Please explain more how this works. . .

I think the peg idea has been around for awhile.

We peg a number of things to meals. We have also used bedtime as a peg.

Too many pegs distracts us, so I choose a few good places on which to peg activities and only choose a few good activities to peg.

For example, clean up/pick up/laundry is pegged to meals and snacks.

For awhile, reading aloud was pegged to lunch.

Music appreciation is pegged to exercise and newspaper folding ( my boys deliver the local newspaper).

Prayers are pegged to either morning meeting time or to travel time in the car or to bedtime - this is also when we learn new prayers or prayers in Latin.

More formal religion activities are pegged to Wednesdays, before we get ready to go to Homeschool group learning.

Journal writing used to be pegged to Sunday night, after Mass, while waiting for dinner to cook...

Again, I am sharing Lissa's post on pegs.

Thanks!

I'm thinking lots more about this. . .

Now that I have 6 children and LOTS of little people (basically 4 of my children cannot do anything without me), I'm feeling like my plate is joyfully full.

Organizing my days in my mind this will get thing running more smoothly. . .I hope.
