Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear Ladies, I went to the shrine of Our Lady at Walsingham yesterday. I took the list of prayer requests and also prayed for all other intentions and burdens on the 4Real ladies' hearts. It was very nice. We visited the Chapel of Reconciliation, which is a very modern, barn-like building and not very "catholic" looking/feeling unless you know all the doors are confessionals! We prayed there - especially for those involved in the adoption/foster system/process or thinking of it, as there are relics of St Thomas More in the altar (also of St Thomas Becket and St Laurence). We visited Our Lady of Walsingham in the 14th century Slipper Chapel and laid all the petitions before her, and left a request for the sisters to pray for the 4Real forum members intentions, also. In the Holy Ghost Chapel we lit a candle for the board members also - and it was so full of candles in there that a man was there opening windows and letting the heat and smoke out! Then we visited the anglican shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham - this is also a more modern building, but is full of chapels and relics (my husband and I get so awed and thrilled to see relics of the True Cross - isn't it amazing?) and has a replica of the Holy House, which is a walk-in model of the house where the Blessed Virgin was visited by the Angel Gabriel - and now full of candles! We prayed there too and left requests for the anglican sisters, so we sort of covered all the bases! It tipped with rain the whole time we were there, but it was still a special time, and I thank you for allowing me the joy of making your petitions to Our Lady. The chapel is covered with plaques thanking the Virgin Mary for her intercessions.

Lucy

Thank you so much for doing this!

On her blog, Leonie has a post about Our Lady of Walsingham, too.
