Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have spent most of my afternoon organizing magazines. I have sewing magazines from as far back as 1988. I had subscriptions to 2 different ones. I am curious to see how others keep their magazines that they just cannot bear to part with. This is what I have been doing today. I bought a plastic file crate with 25 hanging folders. I have begun separating the magazines, getting rid of advertisements and other pages that I do not want. I have done 3 years worth so far. Since the magazines come every 2 months, I am able to put 1 year per folder. I also have 1 miscellaneous folder for pictures that I may find inspiring. It was so hard to take scissors to my magazines!!! I can't believe I am actually doing it!
I also have a tupperware crate full of old Victoria, Country Living, and another with Southern Living. If this works out for me I will go after them next.

No help here -- I have several subscriptions of my own, and new dh has STACKS of magazines that came with him. Currently we have 3 bookshelves of magazines that are in the stand up magazine racks. PLUS 5 additional shelves of magazines not in any kind of holder.

Wow - I started doing this yesterday, myself!

My husband's woodworking magazines are going out to his shop and will probably organize in some upright magazine storage boxes.

I have been cutting up my least favorites and taping saved pictures, articles, etc in notebooks kind of like Dawn does with her journals.

My mom used to do this with recipes that she'd clip from the newspaper, magazines, etc in a 5-subject notebook. I have a notebook for gardening, one for home improvements, and one for future art projects.

I was thinking of asking how people store magazines like National Geographic. I have several boxes of them (found in an old barn) and am wondering if I should dedicate a bookshelf to them or what!?

I take out the articles I want, put them in page protectors and file them in a binder, divided by tabs...kids' crafts, mom's crafts, sewing projects, birthday party ideas, etc...then I put the leftovers in the kids collage-making drawer.
