Anyone use Curly Girl?
I recently found this book and it is wonderful. I have always disliked my frizzy curls but this book really helps you to care for your curls so they look nice. I will be blogging about it soon after I take some pictures. Anyone else a curly girl?

I am! We talked about it a little here
It's liberating not to fight curl any more. It's about a hundred degrees outside and the humidity is so thick you can barely see through it. Bring it on! the more Heat and Humidity, the more curl!

I am, too! Thick and very wavy... in August make that "feels like a carpet on my head" and frizzy. I will definitely check out that book.

Well, I'm more a wavy girl  . I do follow the instructions in the book. I have been re-reading it lately and trying to put more of the suggestions to use.
I'm looking forward to seeing your blog entry.

My dd is! We got the book after Elizabeth recommended it and it is fantastic. Dd went from absolutely hating her hair to loving it! She has really learned to embrace her curls!

Elizabeth recommended it, but it took Mary Chris putting the book into my hands to get the job done.  Both my girls are curly (different kinds), and I've discovered I'm wavy. I use a lot of the suggestions in that book. The other day my black neighbor was giving me tips on dealing with Maria's hair, and most everything I already knew from the book.  She was able to give me fun hairstyle suggestions for little girls, though.
My one scary thing is haircuts. How did you guys find a good hairstylist? I REALLY want to get a few inches trimmed and let the waves do their thing.

I have a hairstylist who works from her home, and I've been seeing her for 9 years. I also have used this local woman who runs a "Mobile" haircutting especially geared for homeschooling families. She comes to the home and does many heads.
I think the key to finding a good hairstylist is consistency. If I can talk, give feedback, after a few times they know my hair and can work out what I need. My biggest problem is styling my hair. I have wavy/frizzy hair, but I can't do much with it. Last year when we had this humid and heat wave and I was at the beach and let my hair curl, and my dh loved it. But come winter it goes straighter.
I think I should check this book out!

I had the ultimate "cool mom" experience last month. My second son has absolutely beautiful curls. He was finding, though, that they frizz with the heat. As he bemoaned his frizz, I smiled. "Oh, dear, you need more conditioner and some gel. Here, let me show you how not to brush..."
His hair looks awesome (well, he cut it for football yesterday but it'll grow) and he's rather impressed that I'm so stylin'

I need this book! I have super curly hair that I either hate or love (usually hate, and don't get me started on how much I hated it growing up) and most often gets pulled back most unattractively (just ask dh). And 2 of my daughters have curls too.
