Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm wondering if anyone could help me out?
I want to get together a collection of little stories from specific examples of the lives of the saints that exemplify the virtues we'd like to instill in our children.
For example:
Patience - St. Therese of Lisieux was getting very annoyed at another nun for letting her rosary fall against the pew and make noises. She decided instead to think of it as the sweetest music and offer up this little annoyance.
Other virtues would be: humility, industriousness, meekness, purity, kindness, unselfishness, plus if you can think of any others. Thanks!

Amy Welborn's "Book of Saints" (for kids... it's available from Emmanuel Books) has chapters devoted to different "expressions" (though not necessarily the virtues you spelled out) of sainthood.

Check it out, my kids love it!

Peace,
Macmom

I have two other suggestions;

Saints and Our Children by Mary Reed Newland has some wonderful stories to illustrate virtues. You can find the whole text from the Wayback Machine url=http://web.archive.org/web/20051227230135/http://library .catholic.org/family/family109.txt]here [/url].

The other book is OOP, but a jewel. I think Helen has another version, so you could search for a different tittle. Mine is a Daughters of St. Paul reprint called Spiritual Diary: Selected Sayings and Examples of Saints that has 12 months with a virtue for each month, with both quotes and short stories illustrating these virtues from saints like St. Francis de Sales, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Teresa of Avila, St. Mary Magdalen di Pazzi. It was originally written in 1778.

The Little Flowers club workbook does just what you are asking. The pick a virtue and attach it to a specific saint. There all done for you
