Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I guess my dh is going to build a deck this fall, so he can officially say the house is "completely finished.

Before he builds, and asks for my input, I was wondering if any of you have any advice to give? If you have a deck, and you love it, please post a photo for me. Any storage ideas?

Also, does anyone have a gazebo? That's what *I* really want............and, I have the perfect place for it, with a splendid view of Mount Shasta. If you have a gazebo, may I please see a photo?

Thanks!

My ds, who is majoring in Residential Construction at school, built us a deck last year. It's just a plain design, but he built it out of composite decking instead of wood. A little more pricey, but no splinters and easy maintenance. No yearly staining or sealing. I'd highly recommend that!

Oh fun Chari! I love our deck...I our storage benches could use some improvement on the design, so you can take a look and learn from our mistakes. I HIGHLY recommend trex or similarly composite material. Because if you are like us, you will not stain it each year, and you will have splinters, and yuck. The no maintainence approach is the way to go, IMHO.
