Here is the latest news in Australia.
The World Youth Day Cross has just arrived on Australian soil!
It will now be travelling around Australia for 12months leading up to WYD itself.
The countdown is on! One year to go!

We were at Darling Harbour yesterday, Anne, with youth from our parish. Bishop Fisher was very inspiring.

We graciously bought doughnuts from our youth group today to support their fundraiser for WYD.

I wrote a little bit about the WYD event on our blog - it was also one son's birthday. What a blessing - to venerate the WYD cross and icon on his birthday!

One year to go?! I must find a way to convince dh we need to go. Visiting Australia has always been a HUGE dream of mine...this seems like the perfect reason. Ah...if I had a million dollars....If only we could drive (we just drove to and from Canada)...If only....In the meantime I will keep praying and eagerly reading updates from my friends

We had a parish pre-anniversary WYD event last Sunday. Very worthwhile.
And one of my sons ( Jonathon) gets to help carry the cross at the handover to our Diocese this Sunday. He will also escort it on the ferry to Parramatta Wharf. What an honour!

Leonie that is indeed an honour! How wonderful for Jonathon! So lovely to be at the 'hub' of the future WYD and it's activities. I really hope that all going well, we will be there in July next year.
