Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Am I the last one to hear about this book? Wow, it is a great resource. I checked it out from the library and liked it so well I bought one off ebay for $3.00 new!!

I also just check out her other book "Saving Dinner for the Holidays" another very good book.

In her book "Saving Dinner" she has at least one meatless meal a week and one crockpot meal.

Summer is great I am catching up on different reading I have been wanting to do for so long!!!

God bless,

Jackie,

I think Saving Dinner has come up before but thanks for reminding me ... this is exactly what I WANT to get back to -- more meals from scratch, good ingredients and food the kids and dh will EAT!

She's got some others: Saving Dinner the Low-Carb Way and Saving Dinner Basics, the Saving Dinner for the Holidays that you mentioned and Saving Dinner the Vegetarian Way.

Seems she has a web-site too in case you want to read more stuff by her.

I am all over this book. We like most of the recipes we try and this week I am doing a summer week we have never done before. I didn't have time to plan a normal menu. As I go through I am making notes of recipes we like and don't and going to put them all together in my own "book"of menus.

We love this book too. I also like her "Frantic Family" cookbook. We've been through the whole Saving Dinner rotation now and I've been considering subscribing to her menu mailer.

I love her books! Her Low-Carb one is our favorite.

I have the Low Carb book, too. It is wonderful...all the recipes I've tried have been delicious, easy, and appealing to my children.

You can also purchase subscriptions to MANY different weekly menus on her website. You can sign up for 3 month, 6 month, and 12 month subscriptions.

They even have plan ahead freezer menus now.    I think they are one time purchases for $3 or $5 or something like that.

She has a comparison chart now too so you can decide which menu or menus will fit your lifestyle.

Blessings,
Krisann

I've been doing as Anne has said. I've been working my way through Saving Dinner, making note of ones that we didn't care for, ones that would be better for lunches (my dh doesn't like salad or soup for dinner,,rotten,huh?)...and then I've been putting the recipes together into our own seasonal lunch/dinner menus, filling in from other sources as needed. I just started my summer one this week! Next I want to start looking for good side dish ideas. That would be my one complaint about her menus. How often can you have brown rice and baby carrots as sides in one week anyway?

Melanie,
That was a draw back for me also. I don't think I could get my family to eat butternut squash as often as she suggests it! . So I would love to hear your ideas for side dishes!

God bless,

Saving Dinner is changing the website and I recieved a message that this is the last chance to download all their free menus. It gives you a chance to see if it might be a good fit and worth a subscription.

I personally liked most of the recipes but my family didn't.    I have been thinking about re-subscribing and doing the Heart Healthy Menu because it is supposed to be a good fit for WW but I am waffling.

Enjoy!

Blessings,
Krisann
