Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I remember reading someone is hosting a 'loveliness of clotheslines'. Can anyone tell me who this is and when? Or have I missed the date

Oh how fun, I have just finished this conversation with a friend about why I love to hang out our clothes! It is like baking bread, or knitting to me, they are so rewarding I feel so motherly, so unexplainably connected to my children and husband. I don't see them as chores, but rather pure pleasure.

Oh, dear chicken lady, such things as baking and sewing and hanging clothes on a line are not like chores to me either--more like luxuries I can't afford! If, even with a bunch of fancy appliances, I can't get the laundry done and dinner made on time and store-bought clothes that fit the right kid for the right season, how am I going to do the luxurious domesticities?

I am trying to learn, I really am.

Think someone can bump this thread when the fair rolls around so I'll remember to visit?

OK I need a good source for "good" clothes pins. The ones I buy are so cheap they just fling apart. They have that metal spring inside and they are so flimsy. Does anyone know a good old fashion brand that holds up?

Oh I'd love to psot our clothes line but we've had 7 or is it 8 days of rain My dh put up two lines from our back deck to the maple tree so we can dry sheets , air out sleeping bags and blankets .So far I've used it once . well We did use the one in the dining room it is actually our timeline
( we hand flags and history , nature pics etc. on a clothes line in our dining room .) when our dryer broke in winter I knew I could dry clothes outside but I can't stand the cold . So I used our timeline for 1 1/2 months until we purchased our new washer dryer set .
I even made a mini clothes line in our van when we drove to MX the last time
Ok I guess you can tell I have a great love of the clothes line

These are blog fairs that focus on an aspect of loveliness in our home/lives. They started last summer mostly focusing on areas of the home and homemaking. Since then we have had lots on celebrating the seasons and the liturgical year as the themes. Here is a post on Elizabeth's blog which explains the idea. Someone volunters to "host" entries on their blog that have something to do with the theme. You don't have to have a blog to participate - you can send pictures or written thoughts to the hostess who will post them with the rest of the fair. If you do have a blog the hostess will link to that blog.

Here is the link to the most recent loveliness fair - Helen's Loveliness of Marian Devotion to give an example.

I can't find the Carnival on Nissa's blog. Did she not post yet, or am I just lost?
