Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

If this baby is a girl, I would like to name her a "Mary Something" name and call her by those two names.

Her only sister is Anne Marie and goes by that.

What are some "Mary Somthing" names that you think sound good together and would stick?

Is Mary Elizabeth too long to be a name that would remain together?

I really like Mary Beth. Short version of Elizabeth.

I'm Mary Teresa though didn't go by that except when we visited with the cousins (and there were 4 Marys so they had to keep us separate). Could be shorter syllable wise if you use Mary Therese.

I knew several of these:
Mary Katherine (Mary Kate)
Mary Patricia (Mary Pat)
Mary Jane
Mary Anna

Also like:
Mary Clare
Mary Grace

Oh and after thinking a bit we know little girls named Mari Rose and a Mary Frances who go by the full names.

And then there is Mary Ellen (I like Mary Elena) and Mary Jean.

Mary Josephine (Mary Jo)
Mary Margaret

Another friend has a baby with a combined name Marynoelle (she does it as one word).

The Dominican sisters at our parish/school almost all have Mary combined names. A couple I really like are Mary Ruth and Mary Sarah.

OK, I'm spending too much time on this. I'd best be on my "merry" way and off to the grocery store!

We have a good friend with a child named Mary Elizabeth, and she goes by her full name. I think it is pretty.

My oldest dd is Mary Elizabeth. We meant to call her Mary Beth, but we have ended up calling her Mary much of the time.

She does introduce herself as Mary Elizabeth, though.

I have a Mary Katherine who is sometimes called by the full name, although more and more it is just "Mary." My Mom is Mary Ellen, and is called by the full name most of the time.

I like Mary Faith...Mary Grace...Mary Rose...

Although I also like "take-off" names like Marisol.

DH won't let us name one of our dds Mary anything--he has a sister named Mary Christine--she goes by Chris, only.

Rachel

Thanks Mary! I was going to put in a plug for Mary Chris . I am Mary Christina, named after my grandmothers. I have always gone by Mary Chris and have met a few others along the way.

I LOVE the name Mary Michael. Never got the chance to use it, though

About the length- I have an Anne-Catherine and it hasn't been shortened to anything. I like calling her both names!
