Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm late with my planting (I was last year, also). Last year I was able to pick up some seedlings and plants from various garden centers. Southern States had some lovely heirloom vegetables, particularly tomatoes, but don't have them this year.

Anyone know of any garden centers that has heirloom or non-hybrid seedlings?

In case you would like to mail-order, Jenn, my favorites are Seeds of Change (prices steep though, but organic heirloom), and The Natural Gardening Company (also organic heirloom and cheaper than Seeds of Change, but shipping is also expensive -- comes out to about $3+ a plant with shipping calculated).

Another company I've heard good things about (though I haven't ordered from them) is Laurel's Heirloom Tomato Plants in California.

They do plants, Jenn! I just placed an order last week -- started late here too and I need backup .

Another source that I've ordered from in years past is Papa Geno's, but I can't recall now if they have heirloom... let me check...

yes they do!!!

I'll try to post links in a bit -- having trouble with the computer right now -- keeps on hibernating on me!
