Which one do you ladies use? Are their any others that you like better?
Jennifer and I have both been having problems with Google Reader. She doesn't get updates in a timely manner and neither do I. I have also not received any updates from Danielle Bean's blog since March 27th.
Thinking about switching...what do you think/recommend?

I use bloglines and it has been pretty reliable. Once in awhile there is a delay, but it usually resolves fairly quickly. I have not tried google reader yet, so can't compare the two.

Theresa,
Can you set a time frame for Bloglines to update? For example...can you tell it to go out and check for new posts every 6 hours? As far as I know, Google Reader doesn't have this option. I have no idea when it checks for updates.

I switched to Google Reader and enjoyed its format but I'm not happy with the problems you all have mentioned. I may have to go back to Bloglines.

I switched to google reader because bloglines was having problems, and I found google reader to be easier to use. (I like the starring and sharing features.) I'm having problems with google reader now, too. Hopefully they'll clear up soon. I'm not sure I want to go switching back and forth , so I'll probably stick with google reader for now.

It was really easy to import my subscriptions from Google Reader to Bloglines, so I've actually been using both for a few days to see which I liked better (I had switched from Bloglines to Reader many months ago, but like all of you was not happy with recent problems).
First, Danielle Bean's site isn't coming in for me in either format. I read somewhere she is having trouble with her feed, so that would explain things a bit.
Reader does seem to have more of a delay that my bloglines, but not by much, at least not for all blogs. Things are actually showing up first in Reader occasionally. There are a few times where posts are showing up VERY late in Reader though (as you all have mentioned).
Bloglines is doing something quirky with me - certain blogs are showing up every day as having many, many new posts, even if they didn't post anything new at all.
I like Reader's ability to star and share (I have a widget on my sidebar that shows posts I particularly liked - I'd hate to lose that).
Just my .02 after using both simultaneously for a few days. HTH

I haven't tried it yet, but I believe Bloglines does have the ability to automatically share another's post that you like at your blog.
When you are in your feed page and click on a feed(blog) in bold, a screen opens up. Before clicking into the blog itself, look at the bottom of the post you like.
(This is a writing challenge.)
At the far right it says
blog/clip this
Then you have another choice.
blog or Save to
I've only saved to clippings folder.
Do you think the blog option puts the post in your blog?

I just checked this out Helen (thanks for telling me) and it seems like their "blog this" button only goes to a bloglines blog that you have to set up, not your main blog. I couldn't find any "widgets" or anything that would help you share that on your own blog.
It does seem that some posts on some blogs have a "share this" option, then you could share to a place like de.licio.us which I think *does* have some type of sidebar widget you can place on your own personal blog. But that was only on one blog that I saw so far today.
Maybe the Moms Who Blog (other than me, apparently ) could do a blog post about this.
