Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Maybe, but it is a shame there aren't more obviously Catholic vendors.

And I'd check out Bethlehem books, Apologia, and the more "not a chain" booksellers, unless I were looking for some particular curriculum item.

Nothing there I would bother with, although there are a couple I've not heard of. Most are the same old Protestant stuff.

If it was the closest and easiest for me and my family I might go. Because....
I wish I could meet a Shiller Math Rep in person, they are sooo nice. And if I could meet Mr. Shiller, well, I'd kiss him!! Not really, but shake his hand wildly and thank him profusely for all his hard work-and the fun we have(most days)with Shiller Math. And the lessons have nothing religious in them-just plain fun and math.
I also second a visit to the Sonlight booth. We used a few years of their stuff and had a wonderful time--only broke away because of this group and ds just wasn't ready for SL2--and neither was I There is a wonderful Yahoo group, SL Catholic, with extensive files for each year with info on substitutions for the non-Catholic materials.
I do know some Catholics who use ABeka and are comfortable making it "theirs." I personally couldn't, but just putting it out there.
So, you could have some fun--don't be discouraged....I wish I was "shopping" this year. We didn't accomplish much so I have very few things to buy, we have our work cut out for us this summer.

I would go - I'm a curriculum junkie, though.

Well, I went and I'm glad I did. I went to a talk about managing small children while homeschooling. The talk wasn't great but she did mention that you need to have a plan for little ones just like you do for big kids. I need to sit down this summer and brainstorm a list of things for the babe.

I also hit the consignment books section and bought a small armload of Magic Schoolbus books so that made me happy!!

It was a pleasant morning.
