I just researched this online and feet do indeed get bigger as we age. My goodness - I really am a 10 1/2 shoe size! Ugh - most stores carry 10's and 11's! I have been looking for a pair of slip on casual shoes (neutral color) FOREVER. Giving it one more try today! Then I am stuck with my nike sneakers. . .
I need a pair for kaki color pants and capris. Also, I have to wear shoes most of the day or my feet hurt. I need an "indoor" pair of shoes because my house I am moving to I am getting new carpet in! Also, like those to be slip on- but we shall see. Might have to try Easy Spirit as they have slip ons. Oh did I mention I need the insoles to be removable!
Oh boy, growing old is tough on the feet and shoes!

Sizes have changed too if you haven't done shoe shopping for a while. I could compare sizes of older shoes with newer shoes and know my feet didn't change sizes but my old 8.5's were the same size as newer 9's or 9.5's and yes a shoe can stretch a bit but the soles don't so the sizes were changing not my feet.
So even if you feet have changed.. you also have to contend with the sizes. You might look at some of the threads on summer shoes for ideas of shoes with good support that also look good.

Here's one of the threads I was thinking of socks and shoes with summer skirts but I'm out of time to find the others but I know there's at least one long thread on shoes to wear with skirts (obviously the shoes are not exclusive to skirts and they also talked about supportive shoes that look nice)

I am a "foot challenged" person as well as far as size. I look at all the cute shoes on display, and after they get the forklift out to bring my size over (10, sometimes 11) I wonder what happened to the cute shoe as I open the box! Anyway, I have had a great deal of success with a pair of shoes from Saxon Shoes called Un-Structured Clarks. The ones I have are little black leather loafers...sort of look like a mary jane, without being a mary jane. Anyway, Saxon Shoes has been great...they are really helpful etc. Also, how about a good ole' pair of crocs?
Good luck!
A funny story..I was shopping for shoes once..a rare occassion for me..and there was a smaller lady standing beside me as I was giving my shoes back to the salesperson that didn't work. I had noticed her sort of hovering during my conversation with the salesman, and I tend to be self-deprecating...so I was making fun of my shoe size and the forklift joke etc. So, a little later when I saw her behind me at the counter, she asked, "Um, can I have the shoes that didn't work for you? I have a big size too!" So funny as I am very tall and she seemed so tiny!! Maybe you had to be there, but I got a good laugh out of it because she already knew that if I had found shoes that fit my size, then those would probably be the only ones in the store for her too! (I usually end up having the person come back to me and say..."Sorry, ma'am, but we only have that as large as an 8.5)
