Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Real men Pray the Rosary

This book looks interesting... has anyone read it?
I liked the preview pages I could see on Amazon. I am thinking of stashing this for ds when he is older.

I haven't read it, but I did just order it for DH for Father's Day. He just joined a prayer ministry so it was a timely gift.

Coming back to add that I have just finished reading this book, and it was very good.

The author has seven children, and they are homeschooled.
Real Men Pray the Rosary came out of a conversion experience he had while on retreat during a difficult point in his life. His wife writes one of the chapters.

The books includes some very inspiring stories of men who pray the rosary. I was humbled by their devotion- not just in prayer but in works.

He also reviews what the rosary is and how to pray. I thought I might skip over that part, but I did wind up reading all his reflections, plus the papal ones he included.

Well- that showed me! After years of praying the rosary many of their reflections were ones that have never even occurred to me. So now I have even more to ponder while I pray.

There is a website to go along with the book, as well as a facebook page.

I think it is a great book for teens/dads/ and even curious moms like me.
