I was lucky enough this weekend to attend a performance of a beautiful
Christmas cantata called "NIght of the Father's Love".

The singing was spectacular, but the message gave me a lot to think about.
We, as moms, are always busy, especially around Christmas.

But it is good to reflect that even the angels of God were very busy also for that first Christmas:

The Angel of the Lord appeared to Mary..
The Angel of the Lord appeared to Zechariah...
The Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph...
The Angels appeared to Shepherds tending their flocks...

And the angels said:
Fear not, Mary
Fear not, Zechariah
Fear not, Joseph
Fear not... for we bring you tidings of great joy.

This says to me that yes, we will be busy. We will have trials and worries. Yes, things won't go as planned. But- fear not!

What a wonderful part of the Christmas message to reflect on as we go through Advent. I felt like that was a little Christmas present from the Blessed Mother this weekend.

Not fearing is to trust, I see as I get older that trust is so important in the spiritual life. To trust in God, to trust in Our Lady's maternal care.

Perfect love casts out fear...it's also a call to perfect love.
