Today I was reading my Mary Vitamin and read where it said "put on your miraculous medal" I reached for mine only to find that my necklace was missing.
It is a rather valuable one that my husband gave me as a wedding gift. It is white gold with a diamond inlay cross and has a beautiful white gold miraculous medal that my husband got me last year for our fifth wedding anniversary. It is the only piece of jewelry I have or wear except my wedding rings. I rarely take it off, and thus, it must have fallen off.
Of course, we were traveling by train and in multiple hotels over the holidays with a trip to Williamsburg and then a trip to Michigan. I have no clear recollection of the last time I remember wearing it. I'm so scattered that it might really have been weeks now that its been missing.
I'm finding it hard to have any hope of finding it. I will call the hotels to see if it was turned in just because it seems foolish not to at least call.
It is so strange that it may have been missing for all this time and I only just discovered it this morning, on my birthday.
I have a vague idea of somewhat recently taking it off because it was severely knotted. My inclination is that I would have fixed it immediately and put it back on, but I have no idea. My biggest hope is that perhaps I did put it somewhere to fix later and forgot and that it is somewhere in our home.
It is just a thing. I know it is just a thing. If I am not supposed to have this thing, I will find peace somehow. I am off to find my old, cheap medal to string on my person. Perhaps Our Lady knew I needed some sort of jolt to renew the devotion. Please pray that Our Lady will help bring about the outcome that is best for my soul. I'm trying hard to be brave.

Oh Lindsay, what a difficult birthday gift in detachment. This would be very hard for me as well. I'm much too sentimental, I confess, especially about wedding gifts my husband might have given me that was a beautiful Miraculous Medal.
Count me in for prayers...for the finding of it...for acceptance and peace whatever the outcome of the search...and for your peace.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

Praying that you get it back, Lindsay. I've been in your shoes many times and know how it feels.

Lindsay, I would also be upset if this happened to me as I am also very sentimental. I pray that you find it and I also pray for peace of mind.

Did you have a lot of pictures taken of you during the last couple weeks with travels and the holiday? Might you be able to look at those to see if you are wearing your necklace to help you figure out when you lost it?

You might want to make a quick call to all of the places you have been...you never know.
My sister lost my grandmother's wedding ring on the day she got married(she had it tied to her garter and the knot broke! Unfortunately she did a lot of walking that day. We had a lot of sympathetic people help us look for weeks. We felt that as long as they KNEW who a found item belonged to, we might get it back.
Praying for you!

Oh Lindsey --so sorry about not being able to find your medal.
I have a lost and found story to tell you. Hopefully, it will cheer you up.
When I was in my early 20's, I visited Europe. I picked up many, little souveniers from my trip. It was a fabulous trip. On my way back to the States, I stopped in Florida with a friend and we rented a car to get around. (This part of the trip was a spontaneous decision.) When this part of the trip came to an end, we packed our bags and headed to the parking garage to drive to the airport. The car was stolen. My precious knick-knacks, religious items and chess set were in the trunk of the rental car. I was devastated.
We made it home. For days, I anguished and cried over my lost items. I tried to be detached but I wanted my chess set badly. I felt stupid praying to God for my silly, touristy items but I cried to Him like a baby anyway -- clutching the crucifix on my Rosary. A few days later, I received a call from the rental agency. The stolen car was located. A crow bar had been applied to the trunk but the thieves were not able to get into the trunk. The rental agency sent my knick-knacks through the airline I travelled. I picked up my bag at JFK airport. I got every item back!
St. Anthony, pray for us!
O Mary conceived without sin,
Pray for us who have recourse to thee and for those who do not have recourse to you especially the enemies of Holy Church and for those recommended to you.

Praise God, and thank you for all your prayers! My husband just found the necklace in the pocket of a bag. I still have no recollection of putting it there, but it is in a huge knot, so it seems I put it there when I vaguely remember removing it because it was in a knot! What a relief!
