Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Good Morning!

What a busy week! I’m trying to take deep breaths and not be in a constant state of hyperventilation!

Monday--Potato and Sausage Soup in the crock-pot

Tuesday--Spaghetti

Christmas Day--Ham, sweet potato casserole, green beans, salad, bread, maybe some pies if I can get my act together.

Thursday--Leftovers!

Friday......not sure....

These post have been greatly helpful!

Tonight we are having pizza!
Christmas Eve: taking veggie tray to a relatives house (lasagna I believe is on the menu there)
Christmas: soup (white beans, chicken broth, sausage, kale) with Hawaiian Sweet Rolls and raw veggies and dip
Thursday: turkey tacos
Friday: left over soup
No idea for the weekend yet.

Today - ham, mashed sweet potatoes, broccoli
Tuesday - cheese ball, spinach dip, deviled eggs, now sure what else we may do some leftovers in the evening if people want more of a meal
Christmas - prime rib, mashed potatoes, green beans, dinner roll, maybe salad
Thursday - leftovers
Friday - ??
Saturday - ??
Sunday, Feast of the Holy Family - Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggie

I'm planning on slicing and chopping lots of ham and turkey for the freezer so that we'll have those for easy meals.. the ham was so cheap I couldn't resist.

Today:

chicken pie, green beans, baked apples, honey-almond cookies

Christmas Eve:

chili, cornbread, cookies, probably egg nog

Christmas Dinner (in the evening - I do a big breakfast in the a.m. with sausage and egg casserole and a cranberry casserole my daughter makes):

turkey, cornbread dressing, roast brussels sprouts, roast carrots and parsnips, oyster pie, cherry & buttermilk pies for dessert with egg nog and whatever cookies and candy still remain

Then leftovers. We're going out to friends on Thursday night, and I think we'll probably take some leftovers there as well -- that's kind of the theme of their St. Stephen's Day parties every year. And then I'll work my way through what's in the freezer. My out-of-town company leaves Friday, so my formal plans run out about then.

Sally

OK- can I just ask when hamburger buns became a "seasonal" item?

My grocery store stopped carrying them because they are seasonal- I asked and could not believe this response!

It is weird!! What about the Super Bowl next month? Or maybe that is when the new bun season starts?
