Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For the last 4 or so months I've been baking Heavenly Homemakers's Honey Whole Wheat Bread. I like the taste but it never rises very well and it gets dried out quickly. My latest batch is rising on the stove and it looks like, once again, it's not rising as much as it should. Today's yeast was brand new so the yeast isn't the problem.

Does anyone have a good recipe for a 100% whole wheat sandwich bread? I've seen numerous recipes online but often they are not 100% whole wheat or contain things like Dough Enhancer. I'm willing to try a simple recipe that contains some white flour if it will make decent bread. Do I need to buy dough enhancer? I can't seem to find it in the stores. I've looked at Whole Foods, the regular grocery store and Target.

Maybe the problem is the recipe. I use many recipes from Heavenly Homemakers but I have to admit that I'm often disappointed. I look for recipes there since I know that her recipes will call for simple ingredients that I have on hand that are not junk but the taste isn't that great.

ETA I do not have a breadmaker. I have a Bosch Compact.

The second post here always gives us a great loaf of bread. It's for a kitchen aid mixer that can do the kneading.. so it should work well with a bosch mixer. Just double check on size of the batch that it can handle.

Kid Friendly Wheat Bread

I've abandoned all other wheat bread recipes. This is the one for me!
I dump all the ingredients in my bread machine and set it on the dough cycle. Then I roll it out and shape the loaves and let them rise.

Sometimes I roll out the dough, then I spread on butter, cinnamon and brown sugar on it before I roll it into a loaf. Very good
