Anyone do this? Deer Park or Crystal Springs or the like?
We are thinking about doing spring water (reason why is a very long story ) delivery. We looked at just buying the dispenser and buying the big old bottles at Lowes or something and it only saves maybe $1 per bottle, but you have to buy that dispenser, whereas it looks like the companies "give" you the dispenser when you have bottles delivered.
So I'm just wondering if anyone else does a delivery, how is it going? Any good deals? Things to look out for????

you might also look into a filter for your house.. like the berky is the main one I've heard though I know there's make your own and other types. But you might be able to get the same benefits with a lower cost.

I was going to say the same, like a Berkey filter. My cousin has this for her well water. She's not crazy about the taste--not bad but not delicious.
Is this for drinking only? My only hang up is the plastic containers they use for the water.

I'll be totally honest, my brain is drawing a blank on why dh said water delivery. We did a bunch of research between filters and bottled spring water, and he came up with the filters couldn't do something that he wanted...but that is where my blank is???!!!
He has to bring water to work as well. And yes it is for drinking and cooking.
Dh has Lymes and a whole host of other issues with that, including high metals in his blood. He is a scientist and has a phD in chemistry. You know college students think they are indestructible...even smart ones :) So I think some of his "poisonings" have probably been around a long time, sadly (we are talking even uranium!). But now we are just working hard on trying to be as pure as possible wherever we can (just got new Flameware ceramic pans/pots...no metals).

Ha ha...I thought this thread in the Our Lady of Good Remedy forum and was going to be about water birth - you know that kind of "delivery"... I must not really be awake this morning.

Ah.. yes I'm sure he has done his research though I would have thought that a reverse osmosis system would be a more "pure" direction for the water.. of course that may be cost prohibitive.

I was going to suggest reverse osmosis too. You can buy them at Lowes and do it yourself. They aren't that expensive even if you have to hire it out. You just need it on the sinks you get drinking water from. That would be just one in our home.
We had water delivery at work because the water tasted horrible. I actually would like to get it at our home, but I have no place to put the dispenser. I keep reminding Dh on the reverse osmosis! I liked the delivery because those bottles are heavy and it's nice to have someone else to it for you. We used Ecowater which I have no idea if it's local or nation wide. They were great! Previous to that company we can Culligan and they were horrible and would have to call several times to get them to show up and we always ran out of water. We were a small customer and not important to them. Ecowater treated us much better.
