So, I'm trying to clean out my closet. :-/
I have had two babies in the last four years, and am hoping to have more. So I have several "wardrobes" going on. There's the pre-baby size 14 wardrobe. The first-pregnancy fall maternity wardrobe. The between-pregnancies size 8-maternity wardrobe (which isn't very nice because we were unemployed for a lot of that time). And the second-pregnancy summer maternity wardrobe. And then there's the clothes I keep for sentimemtal reasons... Needless to say, they won't all fit in my closet.
I imagine a lot of you have had similar issues. What do you do with ALL the clothes?
I'm too frugal to get rid of clothes I may need again in the near future. And I know that the more children come along, the harder it will be for me to go (or afford to go) clothes-shopping. I just have no idea what size I will be or when- or what I should hang on to or let go of?
Someone please talk some sense into me! I'm drowning in worn-out old clothes!

I have one tote (18 gal size) that I put away maternity and off season clothing. So not everything will fit in that tote but most will. I usually put away the heaviest things in winter (mock necks but not long sleeve tees, corduroy skirts but not the denim) and only the lightest things in summer (swim suit, capri's, sleeveless) And I just don't have that many things for maternity.. I get some dual purpose stuff like wearing a stretchy warm top under a more generous maternity top in winter.

depending on the fit of the clothes.. after baby even if you don't change size a lot.. the pre-baby clothes may not fit the same anyway. Your body does change.

I've been doing quite a bit of cleaning out to get ready to try to put our house on the market, so I understand the angst! Here's my suggestion - only keep what you really love and look and feel great in. Don't keep anything that is faded, stained, needs fixing, etc. The reality is, styles and tastes change and like Jodie says, your shape will, too. And the burden of excess stuff isn't worth it. It feels so good to clear things out.

Ugh....multiple sizes and wardrobes....painful. Hate it, but it's nec with childbearing. Especially when your childbearing lasts longer than a decade or two! LOL!
I pack all my "other wardrobes" away in bins, as we have very limited closet space where we dress. I have 2 bins of "other clothes"....and it must all fit in there. And, I have one additional maternity bin.
All of this depends on your situation.....
:: how close are you to stores
:: your clothing budget
:: are your styles easy to find?
:: how much storage space do you have?
I have found over the years, that in every different size, I tend to wear the same things over and over again, so really you "need" very little of each size. And, the outfits I wore all the time were always the couple "new outfits" that I bought and I was happy with them.
But, yes, get rid of ANYTHING that you don't really love and didn't feel totally great in last time around....that's a FOR SURE! Even the things that you felt great in last time around, may not be the "great items" this time around b/c of weather, body changes, etc.
Good luck! I'm about ready to do another purge too!

Thanks, ladies! I'm feeling a bit more inspired now. 
I like the rule about only keeping what will fit in the bins that I have for storage. And if I only have as many bins as will fit under my bed (and I share those bins with my husband), that gives me some reasonable limits on how much I can keep.
And Suzanne- I never thought about it, but you're so right. No matter what size I am, I do tend to wear the same few favorite things over and over again, and they are usually the couple of new things I've managed to pick up that I'm still in love with. That helps a lot. I mean, it's not like I live on a deserted island or something. I can usually manage to get a couple of nice, new things when I need them.
I'm just a pack rat- that's my problem...
