Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone come across any good deals for sandals lately?

I just bought two new pairs of sandals last summer. After an hour spent sorting my HUGE shoe bin and rubber-band pairs and labeling sizes with bread tags (something I've needed to do for ages), I ended up with exactly ONE sandal that fits a child's foot in this household.

And it isn't even a pair we've worn before, so I have no idea what could have happened to the mate

So, if we are to have sandals this year (and with the weather now, it looks like we'll get a few extra months wear out of them), I have to buy at least THREE pair (the baby is probably fine with his Robeez or barefoot).

Good grief There must be a dozen pairs of sandals in my closet, for all the sizes surrounding the sizes the boys each are right now

I bought some nice leather sandals on deep discount last year (the boys often wear their wellies at home since they go into the woods), but now I'm thinking of something like Keens instead, but the price, especially for 3 pr has me    And after this, I can't even console myself that they'll all pass down.

Any sandal thoughts?

We love the Keen Kids Newport sandals. They work great for the boys in active summertime! They're in and out of the river, playing in the fields, gardens and woods, and they're nice enough to wear shopping or for errands. They clean up well - I just toss them in the washer!! I especially like that they're open enough to allow air circulation, but closed enough to climb trees and afford the foot a little more protection than a regular sandal. Not cheap though. But they have lasted well, and been able to pass down, and I haven't had a single other boy sandal be able to do that!

There might be a few good deals in the sizes you need on ebay.

So far my crew is doing fine in Crocs. My son wears these, and I'm rather impressed that they're holding up so well. They stay on even with all the climbing and running and have great coverage. It doesn't seem to matter though cause last week he lost his third toenail of his entire life from dropping a rock on it a few weeks ago. *sigh* Shoes only work if you bother to wear them and I'm the hypocrite walking out barefoot to put shoes on him! Not sure how he compares to the activity level of my nephews though, lol, but my guess is while he could (and would LOVE) to keep up with his cousins he doesn't get quite as out there with a house full of girls and being only three.

I have looked at the Keens, but so far the Crocs are working well as outside shoes, and the kids like them. Plus, the clogs will pass down for the girls, at least, a bit anyway. I didn't find them on Zappos, so you'd have to pay for shipping on Crocs website. You have Amazon Prime *sniff, sniff* I miss mine.

Just from the looks of it I say your best bet is the Keens. You could always camp out at Zulilly, but that might be more damaging to the budget than just buying the Keens.

I balked at the price of the Keens as well, but after buying cheap sandals last year and having them all fall apart before the summer was even over, I'm springing for good ones this year. Especially because we go kayaking, hiking and camping and they work for all that as well as playing, bike riding, nature walks, etc. I figure they'll get a ton of use. I'm spreading out the purchases a little to lessen the blow. My middle son needed them the most, so he has his already. My oldest will get a pair next and my daughter will get some after that.
