OK- so I know that somewhere in the world *someone* must get mail delivery before noon. It's never been my family , but it must be someone's, right? At least in all the British novels and movies mail is always delivered on a tray with breakfast, so it must be possible....
Here the mail comes between 3-5 pm (on a good day). Usually after five on Saturday.
When I was in elementary school, the mail came twice a day -
once around 11 am and then again around 4. Those were golden heights never to be seen again ( and also shows how old I am )....

Our mail is usually delivered around 11:00 a.m., but definitely by 1:00 p.m.

Our delivery route must have changed, because we were like you, Melinda, after 3:00, sometimes not until dinner would the mail come. Now it generally comes before lunch, unless we have a different mail carrier and then it's later. (Saturdays are late).
Twice a day mail, morning and evening post -- what a dream. USPS is probably going to stop Saturday delivery, too.

Usually around 12-1 So early afternoon. Tends to be as late as 2 or 3 after a holiday or right before Christmas. And once in a while at 11 (but that's usually only when I did't get something out there that needed to be mailed, thinking I had plenty of time..... )

Ours gets delivered before 8 am 60% of the time! If I am expecting a package I have to remember to get up and dressed before our mail lady arrives. It's a good thing I know her because I have answered the door in pjs way too many times or my youngest boy in just his underware. We are in city limts of a small town, so that explains early delivery times. In rural areas some carriers work only part time and have another morning job or deliver for another town too. This would explain late delivery times.

PO Box so the mail does come fairly early.. I think it's supposed to be there by 11am. So that may also be why street delivery is later.. they do the PO Boxes in the morning before heading out to deliver?
You can't imagine how many businesses simply do NOT get the fact that some people have a PO Box because the USPS does not actually deliver to the street addresses. I've bought from places that no only don't let you input a PO Box as the shipping address but they then swear up and down that they ship UPS or such and then what do they do? ship it to the post office.. that doesn't deliver to the street address (I've learned to always include the box number somehow on the shipping addy )

At our old house it was late afternoon, but it's around 10:30 a.m. at this new house.

Our mailman's route just changed. He now has almost twice the walk he used to have. When I am out walking in the morning (8:30 or 9am,) I see him on his route on the other side of our subdivision.
We have a great mailman. In fact, when all the mail carriers in our area had to rebid for their jobs, I know a bunch of neighbors who called our postmaster to rave about "Mark." He is just a great guy. Loved our dog (who died last Sept.,) knows my boys by name, donated money when our next-door neighbor's house burned down, ...just a very nice man.
I remember our mail came very early when I was little. That mailman was "Cap," and he drove the route (our mailboxes were at the curb, in my growing-up neighborhood.)

I voted before noon. Ours comes in the 10 o'clock hour if our regular postman is on. Now, if he isn't it comes late in the afternoon and oftentimes not at all It seems the fill ins sometimes decide that our mail delivery isn't worth the walk up our steps

Ours comes at 9:30 am like clockwork Monday through Friday.
Our mail gets delivered by a temp on Saturdays so it comes at anytime that day.
Our regular post woman has been with us for over 15 years and still remembers the evening she delivered my wedding invitations:)

Before noon, and in Australia the Post Office is only open Monday-Friday so no deliveries on Saturday. Have to say that is an American practice that is soo different.

Our mail is delivered right after noon usually by the same mail carrier. I always feel bad when she has to get out of her vehicle to deliver books up our steps. I really need a bigger mail box so they can just fit in there
