Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here it is the middle of the winter and we have ants in our house. So frustrating! They are really tiny ants that are coming out of a crack in the wall. It is an interior wall, but that room wasn't built properly with a footer and such, so we get weird stuff like this. Anyway, we noticed them about 2-3 weeks ago and started using Terro. In the past, we have had success with Terro and the ants seem to really like it, but it hasn't eliminated them yet. Do we need to be more patient? Does anyone else have a suggestion? It is getting annoying and since our house is for sale I would like to get rid of them sooner rather than later.

Thanks!

Beth

I would try Terro again, maybe at several locations. Sometimes it takes several days for it to work. We have always had good results with it.

We're having the same problem! It's been sooo warm and wet this winter that I guess the ants think its spring and are flooded out of their home... We've always had success with "Grants kills Ants" in the past. They're metal stakes with the insecticide in a little round disk that can be placed in doors or out. It's not working this time, though. I'll have to try Terro... Let me know if you ahve any success.

Well, we left the Terro behind a piece of furniture where the ants were entering the room and it seemed like their numbers were decreasing tremendously. Then yesterday we noticed a huge resurgence and now the ants are lively and no longer sluggish Dh added more Terro to what was already out and we had one of those "flower" ant bait thingies laying around so he stuck one of those there too. Well, they are having a field day with that flower thing, so maybe that together with more Terro will take care of the problem. This has been going on for well over a month...ARGH!

I don't have the problem now, but I do use the "flower" ant baits and Terro, but the latter is hard because I don't really have any place that isn't in the open...so it's an invitation to touch.

During the summer I finally got them under control, and then started thinking my ant baits were useless...so I threw them away. The ants came back, so they were working.

I spoke too soon. Our big rain yesterday just brought in the tiny ants. My little one is one a spree to finding and killing.

Well, in the end, it seems that the flower thingies really did the trick. It has been at least a week and I have only seen a single ant (and who knows with this weather and the kids outside all the time they could have brought it in).
